I have a 8890 on V 12.16 firmware, i noticed there is a V 12.20.

Is it worth upgrading it? does any body know what the fixes are?

Also. I was told each phone is tweaked as it leaves the factory, so if you load new firware you can loose the particular phones RF settings and end up with a bad signal..... now........ if i make a FULL backup with Knok, and find the upgrade to be un satisfactory, will flashing with the backup FULL flash return all the RF tweaks?

Call me paranoid, but i like my new phone and dont want to balls it up ;) didnt matter with my 3310 so much ;)

I don't know what have been fixed!

No! you won't lost your phone setting as long as you didn't replace or reflash the eeprom area which start at 3d0000.

Yes! you can recover to your phone original state as long as you have full backup of your phone firmware and eeprom area.

so if i flash up to 3d0000 then i'm just updating the software? but things like the RF tweaking will be left alone.

GOOD! :D

If any one has a service manual for an 8890, and firmware update info i'd be very grateful.

Cheers! :D
