gd87 usb/serial cable

just bought a panasonic usb data cable unit for my gd87 to upload/download pics and ringtones the one with the little cd usb driver disk in back. the problem is all software downloaded doesnot seem to work with this usb 2 serial adapter(thats what hardware wizard recognizes as). The soft used is GD87 Handset Manager,Panasonic Data Connection Assistant,Edit tool software, running with pl-2303 usb-serial driver any help on this would be grateful, sorry for the lengthy story
