tzeonn, perhaps u could do another hyper-link on ur siggy to the exact faq for irc. "like how to download stuff from MIRC" or jus simply "MIRC helps and faq"....

maybe some newbies can understand better...:-)

P2P networks suck for N-Gage games; they are only useful for MP3s.

yeah, i agree. the files u get is either not-working ones or jus virus. even for music.

i dl my songs all from galaxynet, #mp3cable. busy but good and trustworthy.
been using it for many years....

I've been using Imesh lately for MP3s, they seem to be alright and not corrupted.

Imesh? havent heard of it around...hehehe, i only know of kazaa and shareaza.

shareaza is good for software, etc. and the method they do the download is damn cool. they can connect to many user and one go and download here and there bits by bits so ur dl is faster! cool...

Irc is definately the best option in my book, Kazza Lite has eaten my computer at home, If it weren't for internet access at work I'd of gone potty by now.

That's the same in Imesh. You can download from many users simultaneously. :)

I don't understand why people like having Spyware & Adware on their PC. Especially when it slows you down and when they tell you in black & white in the agreement it could fu*king kill your PC. If you have kazaa lite uninstall it & download Spybot search & destroy to disinfect your PC of virus filled spyware & adware. If you want P2P try emule, shareaza, edonkey or earth station 5.

Anyway everyone should have Spybot Search & destroy installed. Its free & it protects your PC from some harmfull webpages.

kazaa
kazaa lite
grokster
morpheus
imesh
etc etc

all these P2P all connect to the same file sharing network, therefor all the files that are on kazaa will be on imesh for example.

you could also try winMX (not the fastest thing about but it has a hell of alot more users and fiels than any of the above)

although, nothing can beat the original napster :), i mean yeah it only had mp3's on it, and yeah it didnt have any resume support and yeah it downloaded very slow but still. it ruled and always will :)

That's why when it comes 2 P2P i only use Emule & sometimes Limewire. I don't care 4 Kazaa because it has spyware. Imesh is new 2 me so i haven't had a chance 2 really try it out completely.

Yeah i agree with u Gophermaster. That's why i started some months back using Kazaa Lite. Ad-aware helped me 2c all that spyware that was in my computer from Kazaa & a few other p2p's.

The only thing that sucks wwith P2P is the number of dodgy users who fake files, cut films short and other really annoying selfish acts. But do look for "Crusty demons of dirt" which is great vid

I can feel ur pain Sirpaul1. I'd tried dl a Harry Potter game 4 the PC & all i got were fake files. I finally got it after 3 tries, but it was very time consuming & a waste of electric.

I have found DC++ to be the best way to download stuff. it actually consists of hubs, some hubs share sci-fi stuff, some games and some share mp3's. every hub has a minimum share limit (eg. 5gb minimum). Each hub has own security and because a single hub has "only" couple of houndred people it is a lot easier to ban/kick people with false files. Also because of the sharelimit there are very few freeloaders in dc.

That's because with #mediaplace-xdcc u do it slightly different than as if u were doing it on #mediaplace.

@c Tully look at what it says, you need to copy the trigger that ends #(packet no.) and put the number of the packet you want.

The same here i thought it was the same as #mediaplace, but #mediaplace-xdcc was some what different. I prefer #mediaplace-xdcc do 2 the fact that u can get ngage games from it & not from #mediaplace anymore.

mediaplace-xdcc is crap. The point of XDCC channels is to used hacked, or at least very fast bots ran from servers. Theres no point in having people who fserve run xdcc as well.
