3390 fell in the pool, made sizzling noise upon removal. Opened, dried and cleaned as per instructions, but upon powering on I only get "contact service" message. Any way around this or is there more serious damage to be considered? :-?

Hello,
Flashing it might not solved the problem entirely better try identifying the problem by using EEPROM TOOLS 3 then try fixing it by using this guide:
"Contact Service": reason shows.....
"PPM / MCU ROM Checksum failed": Reload handset firmware, if the fault persists change D301 and reload firmware.
"CCONT Interface Failed": Reflow or replace CCONT, else replace / reflow MAD, else PCB faulty.
"Cobba Parallel/Serial failed": Reflow or replace COBBA, else replace / reflow MAD, else PCB faulty.
"DSP Alive Test Failed": Usually the MAD faulty or needs reflow. (Caution, don't attempt this if the chip is glued, and practise on a dead board first, this is a very difficult repair)
"EEPROM Tune Checksum Failed": Replace D301 (in 3310) then try a software reset, full EEprom reload, reset IMEI and SP lock data.
Best Regards,
loloph :)
