Hi
I have bought the GX 30
I have a 64mb sd card and a card reader writer.
I have used the phone to format the card and all is well so far.

Now showing four folders on the card "Sounds" "Videos" etc

I cant for the life of me get a Mp3 music file to work on the phone
unless I cut it down to about 50kb's and play it using the sounds folder on the phone but then its only 13seconds.

If I go to the Mp3 player on the phone then select Memory card it says no files on card, weird as it shows the file on sounds folder but faided.
I have pulled the music off of a couple of cd's and converted them to Mp3 using 128kbps @ 44 100hz No VBR as its not supported.

ANY IDEARS WELLCOME :-?

The files play fine on my mp3 player surely you can play full song files or whats the point of having an Mp3 player, because you cant use Mp3 for ringtones on this phone.

please help, Thank you all in advance.
Phil

If you still need help sorting your MP3 Problems, I have got the answer!

You need to:

Record the mp3 as 128 K Constant Bit Rate, with a sample rate of 44100 Hz.
Remove all the Tags (ID3v1, ID3v2 and the Lyrics) - Use Mp3tag.
Remove any header info (Start at Mp3 Frame 0) - Use Mp3 Frame Editor.

As long as there is no header and no tags you should be able to play them in your phone!

If you don't believe me get the mp3 from:

http://www.mp3dimension.com/TupacPDiddy/ChangesILlBeMissingY/

This will work in your phone without any changes, just compare this to the ones you are trying to play until they match.

Cheers...

Hi thanks for the info.
I now have no problem with mp3.

I was wondering if there is any way to have a real
song as a ringtone, GX30 doesnt support the playing of mp3 etc
as a ringtone, is there any other file which can be used to allow
music as a ring tone?

Any idears would be great.
I'm thinking of using mmf but im not sure if i can convert a real tune
with vocals to a mmf.

All the best and thanks for any input.

At the moment there is no way to have MP3 ringtones on the GX30. The only way to get them to be ringtones is to convert to WAVE or MMF format.
