Okay, another request for assistance. I have been browsing this web site off and on for several days, searching for as much information as I can find explaining terms, software, etc., hoping that I can ask a few questions without getting flamed too badly. I really have searched, but cannot find the exact answer or explaination I am hoping to find so here goes:
I currently have a nokia 6360 on TDMA service and am looking to buy another used one. The service provider in my area (ACS) will activate a used phone, but will not guarentee that it will work because the SOC (I have heard that term many times) may be locked, and of course will not unlock it. I know the info is here somewhere, but how and what do I need to make this phone usable on any service provider escapes me. I will take the zingers that will probably come with any replies, but would also appreciate any pointers as well.
