Hi,
Well I bought a 3410 from Ebay for a friend, Got it today and it was SP locked (No idea who too).
So a quick search brought up http://www.btinternet.com/~unlocksmith/guide1.html so I followed the guide, Then tried my 02 UK simcard and it worked but then I noticed there wasnt any signal at all.
Is this a problem with the unlock? Or have I been ripped off with a barred phone?
Thanks

It could be blacklisted, try inseting an orange sim
If it says 'sim card registration failed' then it is blocked
if not then it could be a hardware problem
best bet is to email the person who sold you the phone
and ask them about it

If the phone is blacklisted (most likely) then you should contact the person who sold you it. The only other way around it is to change the serial number. Be advised that this IS ILLEGAL and you won't find people advertising this as it comes with a hefty sentence if you're caught doing it!
I used to change serial numbers on phone's for people until they started cracking down on people for doing it. So I stopped to be on the safe side.
Failing that you could contact eBay and see what they say?

Well, Apparently it's behaving now. I left it for like 30mins and it started working, Then after my gf's brother took the phone out it did it again.
They gave it a full charge and reckon it's working fine now. Strange.
It may had been 02, I know they have had huge problems in this area a few days ago, Maybe it was a repeat.
Lets just hope.
Thanks for all your help.
