Hi,
I have a phone locked to Orange in the Uk, would it be opened to Orange in another countries? (australia)?
And do you think phones locked to a given network will accept sim cards of that network in other countries?
Cheers,
NAser

No and no, for different reasons.

Your Orange UK phone won't work in Australia because Orange uses GSM in the UK and CDMA in Australia. Completely different systems, completely different phones.

And GSM phones are locked to network codes, and each network in the world has a unique code. That means Orange has different codes for its networks in France, the UK, Israel and so on.

Same goes for other international carriers such as T-Mobile, TIM, Vodafone etc.

In time: CDMA phones can't be unlocked at present.
