Please can some1 help

Being a newbie at flasing I have purchased a Flash Cable set, when I bought this i was told this is all i NEED

However I am a little confused, my port conector is a 9 pin connector. Simular to the old game controllers.

After doing a search on various sites I semm to be getting different queries.

I have been told I need a LTP poer connector, which has more pins to be able to flash.

I have Rolis and had tried to flash, but all i get is an errror messgae saying turn phone off, (and the phone is turned off). Thew SW I am using is v6.33

I can use Nokis repair to convert my 3310 to a 3315, this works fine the phone reboots and the new apps are there.

Do I have the right cable or am I doing somthing wrong, please help

Sounds like you got the wrong cable there. You need a cable that goes into the parallel port which is 25 pin. it's about 3 times the length of the one you have got. but the one you have got is useful still. The parallel cable is used to flash the phones and then you use the other cable you've got to complete the flash. Have a browse on these forums for some flashing tutorials when you get the flashing cable.

Andy.

PS have a look on Google for Nokia Flash Cable!

I know its not a data cable I have I have all the different connectors (PS2) and they all plug in the back of the phone rather than inderneath.

Any way I can test these please.

I'm afraid it's not negotiable, you have a data cable! You will need to purchase or build an LPT (25 pin) flash cable to flash phones! The Mbus cable you have is for making minor software "adjustments" and adding ringtones and logos!

I get a similar message. I have a dejan flasher and cable(dejan 1.08 Kit) using with a 8210. I'm trying to backup my phone's flash first. I get the message to switch on the phone and the program(rolis v4.77) hangs!

Is it because I use them in Windows XP? I run the software in the win98/me compatibility mode. What shall I do, Install windows 98 to do this?

give me a suggestion.
