there have been press releases for months about 2GB MMC cards. Now they're lookin to put 1 inch hard drives in phones. Bah, i say the more moving parts the worse.

Take a look at that mess. I can't wait till technology companies get off this obsession with rotating disks.

Apparently, a 256MB RS-MMC runs better than a 256MB MMC on a MMC-device (such as Nokia 6600).
The system seems faster.
Obviously ... the 7610 only uses RS-MMC. I have 512 megabytes of it :-D

slow if u install a large amount of apps and games but if u fill it with films or simpsons and south park episodes and music they wont make it slow

I know that lots of app will make the phone slow, but only the large capacity of MMC will make the phone, esp. the MMC slow in responding, is that true, I notice that, or maybe the large MMC I use is bad, can someone let us more to be aware about this?

i think it depends on the rs/mmc manufacturers, different brands have different specs specifically their read / write speed. Mostly, known manufacturers have the best specs on their rs/mmc.

How does the 512 MB MMC compare. I'm getting a QD on wednesday ( i work for Telstra, so we get it kinda cheaper in the shop, lol), and i'd like something with a lot of storage. Does the 512 really slow it down a whole heap, or not? I think it's a bargain at $115 (AUD) on expansys....
