Problem connecting to SL55 to unlock

Hi,

I am trying to unlock a SL55. I tryied several logger software, and Freia, but I always get the same error. Heres the procedure:

1) with the phone off, i connect both ends of my data cable (com port and phone)

2) I open logger or freia, select phone model, etc, and choose to unlock (freia) or read phone (logger).

3) power on phone, error: phone not powered (or similar).

I wonder, what I am doing wrong? I press the power button enough time to actually turn on the phone (until it reads "insert sim card"). Its necessary to have Siemens Data Suite installed? Its a serial data cable, and I tryied different baud rate settings, etc.
Its possible my data cable is broken? or even the phone? I got my cable from gsmlocker.com.

under configuration settings choose boot type ( BOOTCORE BUG)
when unlocking use the log and map settings.

I have "Bootcore bug" under "Misc Options" and under "Unlocking Functions" I use "Direct Unlocking also Saves Map" and press "Use Original IMEI".
Phone is version 16, Product SL55.

I also got same problem with SL55 version 14 as Krigan said
I also used Freia. but after 3,4 attempts my phone is not switching ON from that time
It is dead now
Can anyone guide me to solve this problem and at least switch ON
(Data cable is perfect )

use "direct unlock no map is saved" function and "use original IMEi function"

if not working full flash the phone with eep and fls...then use those functions again
