Hi!!

I've got the newer version of Pc Suite for the 6230 (6.3.14) - today I even tried the one that comes with the cd..
(I also have tried reinstalling my Bluetooth software/ drivers)

There are still two problems I can't solve....

1. I can't connect my 6230 over bluetooth for PC suite purposes... (content copier, application installer...) - It doesn't detect it in PC Suite via Bluetooth, neither does it display the possibility for a Bluetooth connection (on the Connection Manager)!! only infra red and Serial... and the serial one is only available on COM3, which isn't any of the virtual serial ports enabled for Bluetooth...!!!!!
By reading the PC Suite's help I realised that it is supposed to have the bluetooth option... but it doesn't... neither on the version on the cd, neither the one I downloaded from Nokia's website (6.3.14).

Using the bluetooth dongle's software I can send stuff normally to the phone, as well as explore the gallery.. and have the phone saying it's connected to the pc... But not for PC Suite purposes, though... :(

2. Also, though I can access the phone thru the BT Software' explorer and get files from the phone, I can't do that actively (sending from the phone to the PC over BT..!! I can send from the pc to the phone without any issues though - and yes, they are paired and I've tried repairing them a couple of times already...)

What is happening here ??

Thanks for your help!

P.S. - there are no 'yellow warnings' on Control Panel / System / Device Manager for the bluetooth... ;-)

I had mine working fine with windows Xp, but a few days ago I upgraded to Window XP Service Pack 2........

.....this caused some problems, but basically I uninstalled the bluetooth software (that came with my dongle) and PC Suite.

I then plugged in the dongle and let windows find some drivers (Service Pack 2 is more bluetooth friendly) and then installed PC Suite.

All works fine!

Duno if that'll help, but SP2 is defo the way forward!

I'm not sure if I have installed sp2 already or not :(

I've gone through that the other day... and searched for it (If I had installed it previously or not), and the only reference to a SP2 on the installed software is Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Q327979 - but that doesn't seem to be it... I don't have that security extra funcion neither the pop-up blocker option on IE... And it's also not available for me on windows update... (and I have the required free disk space...)

If you are in the UK then most computer magazines have a free SP2 disc with them.......you'd certainly know you've installed it because it takes about 1 hr  and you have pop up blocker and security center under control panel.

See if you can install it then try doing the bluetooth again.

SP2 isn't available yet @ Windows Update website for the language in which my Windows is :(
I'll wait then... (I know I could download the file and install it myself, though they don't recommend using that file on one computer only, but I'd rather wait till the weekend, because of a partition I had that windows just 'lost' after formatting, - I've gotta find out that first!)

Do you recommend uninstalling my current bluetooth software before installing SP2 ?

the newest pc suite should work with most usb bluetooth dongles, it works for me fine with xpsp1. if you cant get it to work use another software not pc suite.

i recommend you to format your hard disk before installing sp2 (of course only if you are installing from CD)
