cheap american motorola mpx200 at ebay

Later this summer my 6600 get water, i cant repair and its broken, so now i am looking for a new phone, and 7610 doesnt like because is too big and i really dont need camera, later i was looking for a phone at good price, and i found motorola mpx200, the new windowns smartphone from motorola, but here in europe is very expensive, about 400 Euros, but i discovered that in ebay the american version (1800 / 1900) cost only 130 -150 Euros.

So i have ordered one, and i think its possible to change working frecuency from 1800 / 1900 to european 900 /1800, flashing it.

I hope to receive it next week... i will post if later i flash it works 100 % in europe.

before spending money on hardware modifications, check if it work first.

almost all the european networks support the 1800 MHz frequency.

Very interesting, this can be explained I think in one direction; the phone should have the hardware to be acceptable for all networks, I also identify on Motorola V70 that the hardware was made to work as POS (using your magnetic credit card to pay what is need it by simply touching of the credit card on the back side of the phone), I will do some research on MPX hardware but I can't promises anything for the moment.

If I move 2 suburbs out of my suburb it works, if I go somewhere else, it either works or not, the reception is extremely poor or something is flakey. I tried many things including flashing, hard reset, soft reset still no solution :(

To use the 900 MHz band GSM, any luck in flashing your MPx200 because I wanted to do the same, buy a phone from the US, with the AT&T logo on the bottom, I am from Australia and in my area only uses 900 GSM band only and you had alot of problems, have you found a fix? you now many me think twice about buying my MPx200 from USA, why does AT&T have to be so painful with this 900 MHz enable. If you can share some light, let me know,

I heard that MPx200 from AT & T lego branded on the bottom enable the 900 Mhz as you would of read my last post. I was on ebay lately and people say that phone which come from T mobiles and other USA phone carriers besides AT&T are tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM band and offer MMS messagering. If that true, but alot of americans like buying AT&T phone, but are all North American (USA) phone are enable the 900 GSM band? I heard that from some writers? can someone out there help? thanks
