Does anyone know when the 6630 is out in the UK ? and the price ? i have searched and found out it'd be around £340 that about right ?.

Also currently i have the 6600, would this be a good upgrade to the 6630 or are they the same near enough ?

cheers
John.

I'd keep the 6600 till something newer than the 6630 comes out, or at least till the 6630 price drops, which isn't gonna happen anytime soon since it won't even come out till late this year (november at the earliest, more likely december or january). It's significantly different, but not enough so to merit its 500-600 USD price tag (idk what that is in pounds, i'm too lazy to convert it, ur estimate sounds about right tho). And I would only look to the 6630 if 3G is coming around in ur area. Otherwise stick with the 7610. And even that much of an upgrade is only barely worth the money. My suggestion is to wait until the next round of phones. I'm plannin on keepin my 3650 for a while still. Mobile technology's really on the rise, the next generation of phones should solidly kick some ass.

If you want info on the phones, go to:
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,58708,00.html (for 6630)
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54665,00.html (for 7610)
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,4879,33210,00.html (for 6600 and comparison)

6670 seems to be a waste of time in my opinion, it's just the 7610 with a different face styling. Hell, they're even the same size.

Well, my opinion is that 6670 is peace of shit....

6670?!#$% :???:
Sounds so good, but when I read detailed specification, I feel so disappointed, it is a big step back in compare with 6630, damn phone don't have a thing such a EDGE.

I'm will keep my 6600 until I get 6630.... :-P

apologies 4 bad English :(

apocalypso, input always appreciated but calm down. The 6670 isn't meant to be an upgrade to the 6630, it's meant to be a businessman's version of the 7610. Moreover, EDGE only works on systems that support it, and most countries aren't fully 3G equipped yet, so it'd be a waste of time to upgrade the 6630 when Nokia doesn't even know how well their first 3G phone will be received.

Secondly, there's not a huge gap between 6670 (7610) and 6630. 6670 camera is only slightly lower quality than 6630's will be. 6670 uses symbian series 60 v7.0, while 6630 uses v8.0. Again, no significant differences. In terms of size, the 6670 is much smaller, in fact.

Basically all the 6630 provides are a slightly better camera, slightly upgraded software, stereo sound, hot swappable RSMMC slot, and 3G. By the time it comes out, 7610 and 6670 will be cheaper, and unless you REALLY want EDGE wireless internet, it's just not worth it. An American myself, I'm keeping the 3650 for a while still; 3G isn't ready here yet, and like I said, the next round of phones is gonna be incredible.

Like tzeonn said, please don't spam the forum with whining.

What are you talking about?!

Im power user, and working with symbian phones since first models of 7650, Im try almost every avilable smart phones, no mather is it SPV, S60 or UIQ.
So when Im tolking about 6670 im talking with that fardel of expirinece on my back.

I will said again 6630 is so much better phone, 6670 is just new toy for kids, it is a not phone 4 bussines user :???:

Secondly, I agree with u that maybe there's not a so huge benefits between 6670 and 6630, but many even little improvements in complet give a so much better phone at all, damn better phone.
You forget to mentioned a things such a more memory, better procesor, new generation of s60 platform powered with new versio of symbian os give a preaty faster phone, with better respond in all cations, new improvements 4 3th party soft and so, so much.

U need to go again to nokia site and read carefull detailed specification of both phones and u will see that 6630 is so much better phones at all.

Conclusion

6630 or 6670?!
well, every power user will dont have dilemma between choices which phone to buy...

No hard feeling ;-)

apologies 4 bad english :(

With best regards

These phones are not yet even on the shelf, we havent even touched them and yet we rant, whine and complain now! Instead of ranting, whinning and complaining, we should be thankful to Nokia for giving us the power to choose! No other mobile phone manufacturer can even equal Nokia's versatility in offering so many different phone models to choose from.

What if Nokia and others ceased to churn-out or slowed-down in releasing new models? Another ranting, whinning and complaints from some of us? What makes you happy, anyway?!? :-? :-? :-?

What makes you happy, anyway?!?

Well, better nad better phones only, nothing more, nothing les the better.

As I said it is just my opinion, opinon of one power user which use nokia phones trough many, many years, since 3110, and using symbian since first prototypes of 7650.

I love nokia, and i appricet nokia relaes politics with so many various models, for almost every user needs. Everyone can found something.

BUT

I dont like when they relase old phone in new housing, and promote them like highend stuff.. :(

thats all..

no hard feelings

another one apologies 4 bad English

Hey,

I just had to jump in here as it's a little pointless all this really and truly guys.
I have used symbian since the 7650 as well, I have and do spend a lot of time playing around, surfing for whats new and reading all the news.
But does this make me an expert? No, I know a lot sure but I am no expert. Something comes out almost every day and the technology is changing very rapidly.
Everyone here will agree we're all enthusiast's when it comes to Symbian and want to know whats happening, so in a sense we're all very knowledgable.

In a word the Nokia 6670 is cutting edge, it shares what at the moment is the top Symbian series 60 internals as the 7610.
But if you look closely what is the one major change? The keypad layout.
Just like the 3660(?) Nokia realised that most users, namely average Joe do not get on to well with odd shaped and arranged keypads. Not a problem, we'll release another thats identical but catering for those that do not like change.

My feeling is this, why get a 7610 which although is better than my 6600 isn't that much of a big step up. Instead I am waiting for the 6630, which apart from looking dam good also has a few more goodies. Combine this with the fact that what I have learnt with my previous Series 60 phone I can apply to this new one to once it comes out.

Just my thoughts.

jf2404 - I've seen a price mentioned of "From £99" on a tariff.
