Hey,

Got hold of a 3650 and wanted to get pictures off it, and install games on it. Bought a cable on eBay, one of them annoying cables that you have to put a battery and sim card into and insert into the phone, but the PC doesn't recognise or detect it... (Win XP). The PC seems to think that COM1 where the phone is connected is an IRda port, which it's not! Any easier way to get stuff on/off the phone?

Bluetooth recommended. You can also get a card reader which is a lot faster but I think it's a hassle because you have to take the card out every time you want to upload things to it.

Can you install games and/or applications this way? (card reader). As I have one and I can't seem to install anything, just take pics on and off. Also, can the 3650 play full midi files? I sent one via IR from my 6230 and it went into multimedia messaging inbox and plays as a sound clip but can't be set as a ringtone! Ah the confusion. Whatever happened to set standards?

Yes, you can. This link explains how:

If you install a phone app called FExplorer using this method, then it can be used to install all subsequent apps you copy to your memory card by just selecting the .SIS file.

Yes! When you select the .MID file from your inbox it is opened in the Recorder app. Once in Recorder, select Options then Save, and it will then be available to set as a ringtone.
