To clear things up:

In our online calculator (http://unlock.nokiafree.org) you need to fill in a detail called "GEN".

GEN = Boxserial. It is a number that makes slight changes in the first digits of the unlock codes.

Which GEN to select
If you unlock a 6230 - use "ASIC 6"
If you unlock a 1100 - use "Griffing Clip"
For all others - use "V2"

Just a small update on this:

ONLY FOR DCT4 PHONES:

Nokia 1100 / 3100 > 33552
Nokia 5140 / 7610 > 33802
Nokia 6230 > 32821
All Others > 33820

Please note that in online calculator you cant input manually the 'GEN' number, so the best alternative will be the offline calculator
check in my signature to get it.

Also for the nokia 7600 on 3 the code you have to input is 32779.
Thats what I and a load of other people on the forums did and it worked a treat.

Due to some specific issues about GEN settings, it's better now to select the GEN accordngy to firmware dates instead of phone models.

Press *#0000#. You will see the version and date of the firmware of your phone.

-If it is '03 and backwards: use v2
-If it is '04 and first couple of months of '05: depending on the network, it could be Original, Prodigy or GTCL-001 (the last one specially or 1100 models dated on the first half of '04)
-If it is '05, most probaby the previous serials, plus GEN ONE.

Do not waste your five tries -there's no way to turn the counter backwards-. Use them wisely. If you have any doubts, post in the forum.

Also, if you want an In depth explanation and a couple of good artices, take a look at http://nokiafree.org/forums/t74498/h/s.html

As you may see in the stand alone version of NokiaFREE calc, GEN numbers are a number, and have a denomination. For example, GTCL-001 is 33552, v2 is 32821, etc. ONE it's just another denomination, and if my memory does not fool me it's 32822 (but I could be wrong, I switched to Linux and NokiaFREE calc does not work on it, so I can't ckeck if it's correct)... but you have the idea.
