Hmm just a guess, but are you using Windows XP?? If you do it can be a bit tricky to get the cabel to work

i have a serial cable but on xp and win 2000 and win 98 it does nt require any kind of driver

drivers are only needed if u are using DKU usb datacable and why the drivers required coze they need to map the port usb to serial ..

if u have a serial data cable then that must works without any driver
only DKU - 5 needs drivers that can be downloaded from nokia site

Asterix, that's great, though I think there has to be some usb to serial conversion in between the pop port and usb port. I've heard Nokia uses Atmel chip for this, other manufacturers... something similar, probably.
But thanx for input. :)

hi,
i agree with toshvan on the conversion issue. the dku-5 cable is recognized as such as soon as it is plugged in. this doesn't happen if the cable is a wires only solution. for me the cab le worked on first try with win xp. however, i was on the phone with nokia tech support regarding some issues with pc suite. on the sie the guy said that copies of dku-5 often have problems. so maybe forking out the rediculous amount of money for the cable saved me some serious headache in the end...
