OK... I know I'm pushing the limits with my 1102 messages inbox, but I recently started noticing a terrible slugness when I open a new message directly from idle mode (1 new message appears on screen)...

First I thought it was related to sysiconz (I still use 0.98beta, it's the best :) ) but I've uninstalled it and the slugness remained. I thought it was related to sysiconz because this slowness is only visible while opening from idle mode, i.e., if I open the messages menu, and then the inbox, and then the new message, no particular slowness is visible... so it seemed not to be related with the number of messages stored.

Nonetheless, I checked my friend's N-GAGE with the same SW ... mine takes about 9seconds opening a new message while hers takes only 3sec, and she has a "mere" 255message inbox...

Is there anyone out there (LOL) with an over-a-thousand-messages inbox?

Try moving some of them into some folders and see if that helps.

I've noticed slight slow down when it gets over a few hundred so i've never let it get as high as 1000. Why don't you just delete some of them, surely all 1000 aren't that important.

is it only the inbox that is slow?

it can also be som appz

try uninstalling all appz that are running to check if any of them is making ur phone slow.

use appman to check which tasks are loaded. and if you dont need any of those, just delete them :D

ehehe... i've solved it! once again... how did I forget to try moving messages to other folders?

now I'm @ full speed once again... with a total of 1893 messages and only 361KB of phone memory used for them!
