Hi!
I bought 6600 some weeks ago and I don't like my battery!
I use phone all day long (many calls, games, ....) and I always have Low battery in the evening.
I used 3510i and 3200 before and battery worked about 3 days without charging.
Also when I connect phone to the charger it is full in 40 min.

Is it only my problem?

P.S. Phone is new, I don't use .gif screensaver applications (just clock).

Thanks.

That's normal. When I had the Nokia 6600, it lasted a maximum of 24 hours. I used it for SMS, phone calls, games and bluetooth. Even on standby ... it lasts 24 hours maximum

Now my 7610 lasts 3 days MINIMUM. I'm totally impressed with the 7610. It uses the same battery too ... BL-5C

I guess its got to do with effiency?

big screen more usage = less batt life :D

maybe u can get another batt plus a desktop charger ;)

Sometimes it takes a few charging cycles to "break" the battery in, so after a few weeks you should notice a bit of an increase in batt life.

yeah...

my ngage's battery lasted less than 24h when I first got it!...

and now it works for 4days with BT off and 3days with BT on... but I guess I don't play as often as I used to !

Moreover, I leave it on at night (during my sleep)!

Today I turned off my phone before charging. Reconnect it some times when battery was already full and after this leave it at night.

Now I still have 7 battery level on display.

Thanks for answers!

I've always had this doubt: does leaving open applications in the background (such as messages, logs, notes...) reduces your battery life?

They can do, but unless you have loads open, it shouldn't make a major difference.

Yep, my battery last for around 2 days tops, but that is with use of the MP3 player, games, etc...

thankx! i never leave games or external apps opened, but sometimes it's just so practical to leave messages and log menus opened...

Yeah, I leave the MP3 player on as much as possible, simply because of the long time that it takes for the application to start!

6600 lasts for one and a half day, n-gage for about two.

depends on what i do with it.

When I use my Ngage it's only to play games and often over bt the battery only seems to last about 5 hrs.

On my N-gage QD i would have 2 say about 8 days in standby mode, minus any game playing on it. Game(s) playing between 7 to 9 hrs.

strange, after i formatted my ngage, my batt life is ridiculously low now, less than a day, compared to 2 days like before :???:

tzeonn, have u changed to another firmware?

Same here. Around 2 days battery life for my QD, only had if for about 3 weeks now. But thats after playing a lot of games, and a couple of calls, lots of SMSing..

nah, just formatted phone... giving me probs so i formatted it all heez.

so now, i resorted to using a 1 x 1 pixel pic as screensaver to save precious batt life :-D

then something must be different, otherwise ur battery life would be the same... perhaps u had a yet-to-invent battery saving app that u didn't tell us about! :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that, the battery meter on the phone isn't a true representation of the actual battery life left. Many times it has only showed around 2 bars of battery and when I turn my phone off then back on, it is full again! It's just a rough guide as to when you should recharge your phone.

i agree, but with mine it will stay on full bars for ages and then suddenly drop down to nothing in the last hour(ish) of battery life. when i turn it off and on again, the batts drop a lot. i'm guessing cuz it takes a lot of power to restart it.
buy a second batt. only cost a fiver (over here anyway) and it'll give you another days worth of batt if you're desperate. i also bought one of those wind up chargers for when i'm road trippin. they work quite well. especially if you jack up the car and attatch it to the wheel and accelerate!

I can usually pull of charging my 3650 only once every two days, and I use it pretty heavily (i.e. play games in class and make at least an hour's worth of calls a day). I remember once when my battery was in its prime it almost lived up to the week and something long standby that Nokia claimed, but that was with almost no use.

Tzeonn idk why that would be. Maybe now some program's working that wasn't before, and is therefore draining more power? Someone said Psiloc programs seem to do that even when not running.

In terms of the battery guage, be aware that the bars that last longest are the top and bottom ones. The top bar lasts me almost an entire day. The rest of the bars go down steadily overnight a little more than half of the next day, and the last bar lasts until that night when I recharge it.

Those N-gage times sound about right, for heavy gameplay. You can't expect too much out of it. I've found that the 3650 and N-gage are pretty inefficient in that neither has dedicated gfx or sound processors, and both probably could stand to have more efficient OS's (7610 same processor, more memory, more features, but more efficient OS, therefore longer batt. life).

Battery maintanence tip: Try to completely drain your battery as much as possible. The rechargeable batteries in small electronics can develop a memory effect, even the memory effect resistant phone batteries. It's always good to completely discharge your battery as much as possible once in a while.

Two questions: Tzeonn, how much battery life does that save? And does anyone know of a program that refresh charges ur battery? All I can do to completely discharge and recharge is play simpsons episodes for an hour then charge the phone.

ya mean me using a 1 x 1 pixel for screensaver? still got 7 bars the next day. ;) but after that, batt became flat after i listened to 30 min of mp3s and leaving it in my bag :(

for me, i play games till the batt runs out.

im just wondering coz my friend told me that using a 1x1 pixel as screensaver can cause burnt out pixel?? is this true??

nah, dun tink so mate.

anyway, i realised that if i format the phone while its charging, its batt life gets shorter, which i experienced on my ngage, solved when i reformat without charging it. :???:
