Help needed with IMEI change

Help needed,

I have downloaded the samsung s500 service tool ver2.00by mkmy however i need some advice.

i have my phone connected via usb via comport4 (easystudio works fine) but when i try to change imei it comes up with an error message "ie_open-device already open".

What the hell does this mean?

only works with externally powered serial cable as far as i am aware!

Remove sim card first!
if i remember right, i think you click on TAT first. then it says power on phone.
power phone on and you should see blue screen with tat mode in red letters, now put imei in box on myky and click on IMEI and imei should be changed.
