I purchased my 6620 a month and a half ago from ATT, and this being the first time I've felt upgrading was warrented since I first purchased my 8260 4 years ago. I'm impressed wth the 6620, but it has failed me in a few ways. Mainly I've been subject to both time and date loss. 2 times I've pulled my phone from my pocket to find it off and after turning it on the time and date are gone, this is very bad as I use the calendar and timers for all of my scheduling.
The other error I've found is when using the wall charger, after setting my alarm and turning my phone off, my phone will sometimes loose the alarm setting and advance my clock a few hours. This is unacceptable as well, I use it to wake up in the morning. This is intermittent, but only when the phone has been powered off and only when the charger is in it so far as I can tell.
Info:
6620 Purchased 1.5 months ago
*#0000# Shows:
v 2.14.1
28-6-04
NHL-12
Any other codes I can use to check install versions?
What other codes exist for my phone?
Is there a newer version available?
I am also looking to upgrade to 1gb mmc for mp3 and movie playback. Does anyone have first had experience with 1gb size? Transcend has been claiming to do a lot and has the best speed and stability reviews in general, though I've seen some positive posts about TOPRAM on here. Ideas?
Thanks for your help!

I am having the same problem that you are. I just purchased my phone 3 hours ago and it has already happened to me. This is really unfortunate because i use my phone as an alarm as well. Hopefully they fix it in the fireware update!!!!

Is there any definite info on the 6620 mmc capcity? I just bought a 512MB mmc on ebay. And also if it does limit to 256MB, think Id still be able to use the 512?

while theres no definite info, mmc of up to 1 gig do work in symbians, depending on make.
other than finding out from other 6620 users, u can also test and try the mmc at a shop selling it, if ur phone detects the mmc in memory, it shld work ok.

I have the same firmware you have and a 1Gig MMC card in my 6620. I have no problems on date, time, charging or use of the memory card. My 6620 was for AT&T but unlocked. I use Cingular in the SE US. I would exchange your phone for an other one. It may just be the phone.

ok....so i feel like an idiot. took the phone back to the store where the sales person turned it right on in front of me.....turns out those of us who are too careful with electronic devices, dont push the "on" button hard enough. the first click of the button means nothing, press it harder, (harder than you probably think you should have to push on a microswitch) and a second click will turn on the phone. i feel stupid, but at least its fixed and maybe i can help somebody else from looking like a moron in front of complete strangers.

loaded up the topram 1gb mmc with about 30 songs right off the computer, works fine in the nokia 6620, have not filled the memory card yet though, will keep an update when its loaded with video and music.
