I see in this manual that it's possible to make calls with the 6630. An incredible innovation, what will they think of next? :P

Well popport have a stereo output as well, chk them specification and pinouts and u wil see, the question is just is it soft neable or disable that, ususally yes like on all s40 phone, and newest s60 phones...

because like for the 6260, although the radio is stereo, the mp3 it plays isnt. :-x tats wat ppl said on the mobileburn forum. so i am quite unsure if its gonna be the same for the 6630 :???:

Decent things I noticed:

Offline mode like the ngage
World clock
Handsfree button like the 7650
Hot swap like the qd
Sequence mode to take 6 photos at once
Pause then resume during video recording
Full screen real one player
Bluetooth serial port profile (this wasn't on the 7610)
Turn the operator logo on and off

All in all it sounds pretty much the same as os7.0 just with the 3g crap added and a couple of little things here and there, still can't wait though :)

Yeah it sounds like a great phone... and I'm holding out for one. I'm from the UK and I'm on O2 with a nokia 6600. I'm already getting sick of companies ringing me up (Their operators all seem to be Welsh!) saying "Hello Mr Enigma, we see your contract is up for renewal, we can offer you a cheaper contract with more mins per months and a new NEC handset with blah blah blah blah..."

It kinda shuts them up when I say "Look mate, I'm waiting for the nokia 6630, until you can offer me that handset... dont bother calling me!" One guy even had the cheek to say "Well this new NEC phone comes with free insurance, why dont you have it and when the phone comes out that you want... damage it and make a claim to get the handset you want!" (I'd question the legality of that!)

Anyway... what I wanna know is does anyone have a release date more specific than "4th Quater of 2004" and does anyone know what networks it will be available on? I know it's been confirmed on Vodafone (Which is okay because that's what my Girlfriend is on) but I'm not sure if I can use the 3G high-speed data to access my home email (I can currently send/receive emails via GPRS on my O2 contract phone and I wanna be able to do the same with the 3G-speed if I switch networks!

I emailed three.co.uk and asked them if they were bringing the 6630 out on their network. This was their reply: With regards to your question, we are launching a wide and varied range of models from the different handset manufacturers over the next few months, at present we cannot due to company confidentiality give the handsets that will be launched but ask you visit our website on a regular basis for any announcements on the handset you have enquired about. but that was back in June!

ANY information would be nice...

I've been looking for a proper release date too but I haven't found one yet.

The biggest clues i've had so far is that the manual is online already so the unit must be ready to ship and Vodafone have included it in their 3g launch line up, that starts in November sometime so it should be out then.

Vodafone launch 3g services next month, Orange are running trials just now so they shouldn't be far behind and O2 are sheduled for January.
