Help on simple sim-reader/writer

I am trying to build my smart reader writer, i have attached the schematic diagram of simple sim reader/writer, my problem is I cannot get positive voltage in the input of 78L05 voltage regulator cause I have negative voltage in pin 7 & 4 of 9pin db9 connector..... the detect switch on the card slot, normally open or normally closed without the card?..........thank you!

Well, about your problem, maybe you are taking a wrong reference (other than pin5) in db9... anyway, I've attached a realy simple "schema" that I buid in few minutes! Try to look in positions of the diodes conected to refered pins (7 and 4), it worked for me!!
