I've just got a 6600 which was orignally on orange and was unlocked. It had a load of orange apps on, which would crash the fone when they tried to connect to GPRS, but couldn't when you didn't have an orange sim in. I tried to get the fone reflashed at the nokia service centre, but they said the fone wouldn't accept the flash file. I had a tinker on the C drive, deleting the orange apps, and now WAP, GRPS and MMS will connect, but no data is transfered once they are connected. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem? Cheers,

Hi,
To get over your problems now I think your going to have to reformat the phone, which will essentially return it to the state it was in when you brought it. Remember to back up your contacts atleast.
Also I'd try going to a different Nokia Service Centre as they most certainly can flash it, the only problem you may have is because you have an Orange phone most NSC's will only flash to Orange Specs. But you can have the generic (I think it's called) firmware, the ebst one to go for is V5.27.0 which is the newest.
As I said some places will do it others wont.

I tried reformatting, but it didn't restore all files on C. I think i'll just ask the guy down the nokia centre to try again at reflashing it with a regular flash file. Cheers for your help.

Hi,
No problem, your welcome.
The other thing you could try is removing all your access points and from the Nokia website sending yourself some new ones to save to settings.
Sometimes I've had problems and done it this way.

Yeah, getting them off the nokia site did the trick. Weird... The only thing not working now is regular dial up wap, cuz the settings are off the O2 site rather than the nokia site. I even tried copying the settings directly off my 3650, but still not working. Nevermind. Thanks for your help.

Hey,
Your welcome. Your getting there then with your settings now. If your WAP is still palying around, again remove the WAP access point and get that sent from Nokia site to.
WHy they sometimes do this I do not know, but in all my cases just removing the access points and re-sending them to myself works.
