please help please please please????

guys, i know this has been discusted before but i just don't seem to find the answer... i have a 128mb mmc that i used on my 6230 and it worked fine. then i gave it to myfriend since i want to buy an mmc w/much bigger space. but the problem is the mmc is corrupted and we can't format it since everytime it is almost 99% completed, it gives me a message such as system error memory card corrupted! we tried it over and over again but it just doesnt seem to work... i tried it on a 6600 but it just gave me the same result. any ideas guys? i just dont want to throw the mmc... *sniff* anyways, do you think it's worth it if i sell my nokia7610 for an n-gage and a pocket pc with a 1.3megapixel cam??? thanx guys in advance!!!

Tried using a card reader on a PC to reformat the card, it works, usually. Otherwise, chances are the card is probably *dead*... sorry. And, abt the Nokia 7610 for Ngage and PDA, its really up to u... But do u really wanna carry 2 devices when u can carry one?? The Ngage is a great buy for a 2nd phone, but i'm not too sure abt the PDA. Might as well get a real DigitalCam yeah??

thanx for the reply! haven't tried the card reader technique, but when i do, really hope it'll work... don't have a card reader though, might as well buy one. what are the causes of a dead mmc? cause i just had it on my 6230 working flawless 2days before i gave it to my friend... you're right about the carrying of 2 gadgets, it's just that i'm not quite contented w/ the cam of 7610 and i can only buy something that's worth the price of my fone since my parents won't give me extra... i go for the 2nd hand things w/c is usually pretty good, not only i can save money but have those things that i wanted! haha!!! :lol: anyways, i really wanted a digicam but then i can only choose 2 gadgets since it has to fit my money??? whaddaya think? my 7610 for: ngage&pocketpc, or ngage&digicam, or digicam&pocketpc+cheapmobilephone??? thanx again!!!

If you know anyone with an mmc compatible digital camera you could format the card in that.

Never ever skimp on ur mobile... Otherwise, ur in the wrong forum... Well, i'll go for the Ngage and the digicam, look for something that uses mmc ;)

hah, finally bought a card reader!!! it worked!!! thanx guys!!! anyways,the card reader is for mmc and sd card. i tried to use it with my 7610's rs-mmc to transfer files (of course w/ the mmc adapter) but it can't read or find my memory card... it says no disk inserted... any ideas??? uhm, im planning on buying the ngage qd and a digicam!!!

get an app called mmc medic off #mediaplace on efnet on irc. u need this because it formats it to nokia mmc format. if u just plainly format it with windows, it has the windows format making it unusable on nokia fones. this also applies to people having trouble using higher size mmcs on n-gages. u need to make it nokia format with mmc medic because its in an unrecognisable format.

err..i think he said that his rsmmc could not be detected via the card reader,so how can he format it using mmc medic? :roll:

i've got the same problem on my 7610's rsmmc, card readers worx fine for the ordinary mmc's but it could not detect the 7610's rsmmc, there was previously a thread which mentioned that the rsmmc which came w/ the fone could not be detected using card readers.

you probably have to a buy a diff card reader or a diff rsmmc...

btw, take a look at the faqs section on how to acess ur rsmmc and fone memory using the data cable..this could help..
