Hello!!!

I was messing around with the SeleQ.sis program so i think i deleted some important files in c:/system/mail. the files are.

00001000 34b
00100000 627b
00100001 46b
00100002 12kb

i did this because when ever i used to try and send a msg using Short Message i used to get an error msg saying "Messaging!!! System Error" so i used to send though my contact name "send msg or something". Anyways now after i deleted those files i cant send period. nothing. i need to retreive back those files. or if i could install back the msg service. i hope its possible. i dont want to reflash the phone. got alot of contacts to worry about.

anyhelp would be great.
Thanks

Shaidi

On a Series 60 based phone, two key sequences will allow to restore your phone to a cleaner state:

1) Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

2) Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

In both case, the phone will ask you a confirmation and you will have to enter a security code (12345 by default).

Remember that your handset needs to be at least 3/4 charged before you reset it.

I would go for *#7370# and then restore any contacts/data from Nokia's PC Suite.
What??! You didn't backup your phone before messing around deleting stuff? Hmmm, bad!!!
But no worries you can still back it up and after you have reseted (described above) you can restore your contacts, you so much worry about. ;)

I hope this will help you.
Cheers!
