Hi
Just wondering if anyone can help me here please.
I charge my mobile and then go in a conversation and after a short while the phone/battery dies on me. So I thought maybe I need a new battery, so I stuck a new one in and I get the same problem.
Any ideas anyone please? The phone is a 3310.
Thanks.

yup its the battery or matbe the internal circuitry of the battery inside the phone.
i have the same problems months ago. even sending messages would turn my phone off. and i flashed it several times with original flash files and still it turns off.
i bought a new ORIGINAL NOKIA BATTERY. take note that its original. fake batteries are now availble in the market. and now my 3310 is as good as new!

Hello :)
I have already twice been confronted with a similar problem. The respective 3310 and another 3315 would charge and stay standby/idle for an eternity, yet when being on a call, within 2 minutes they would simply turn off. Re-flashing did not change a thing, BU -
other batteries ALSO didn't change a thing! I have a selection of batteries here, most of them original, NiMH and Li-Ion ones, very old and fairly new ones. None of them made the phones behave any different, even a BLB-2 scotch-taped into it didn't change anything... all of them charge normally, keep the phone idle and when on a call, it will shut down no later than two minutes in the conversation.
I brought the phones (it were a 3310 and a 3315, both from the same colleague of mine, with a few months between the first and the second case) to a repair shop and in both cases the same chip on the PCB had to be replaced. Each fix costed me 250 Baht only (seems to be a quite cheap chip, that one, that is just 6.25 us$) and both phones worked happily ever after with just about any battery :)
Kind regards.....

Hi mates,
the most probable cause of problem is the RF Power Amplifier. It consumes a lot of power when transmitting. Idle period do not transmit continuously, only burst for maintenance check and location verification.
hope it helps...

Yep, PA! I have a heap of 33xx with this, the PA is leaking, so when you are on a call and the PA is fully working it will "leak" a heap of power very quickly! Needs to be repaired or replaced!

How do you replace the PA? I'm guessing you need a bit of SMD soldering skills for this?
