no need to change just do a full factory reset, you will get english menu, or do a menu shortcut 4-7-1-1, then you will get the english language.

Hi,

I downloaded 5.06 and flashed to my 8250, but when I turn On the phone after flashing, the funny welcome picture comes out (this is not happen when I flashing to 5.02). OK, this I can change back to Nokia welcome picture using Logomanager. After the phone had boot up, there is some funny thing displayed on top of the network operating logo. How to get rid of this ? This 5.06 also change my IMEI number.
The last time I flashed to 5.02, all the picture I uploaded to phone and my profile is still save in the phone, but 5.06 erase all my picture and profile. Is there any way to upgrade to 5.06 without effect my profile ?

i guess the 5.06 flash you download is a full flash, which mcu+ppm+eeprom, that's why your phone imei change and all your pictures and setting change, since you have replace your eeprom data with the 5.06 one. You need to download or flash mcu+ppm only if you want to remain your picture,imei and other information like downloaded ringtone etc.

if you want to change back your imei number, use nokia tools by rolis v1.8, copy down your original imei back the back of your phone, and fill in the change imei box to change it.

when you flash full version, your pictures and music will lost . because they save at flash.

the "funny thing displayed on top of the network operating logo", when i flash the V5.04, i get too. but i flash v5.06 , the logo didn't display. you can reset the phone setting with one software(the name i forget). all things will be done.
