Hi i need to know why, once you upgrade 3320 from 1.04 to 2.06 it star blocking out it self, turning off and most of them get "out of service" we flash them several times and some of them work but the rest become a big pain in the ass, what is going on.............

thanks..

With what are you flashing it?? And from the sounds of it you have done several. On the ones that are not working did you know for sure they were working fine with old software? And if so did you try reflashing back to old software?

V2.06 was supposed to fix some of the 'power cycling issues' amongst other things..

the first ones has been buggy. Just fill it up with flux and hot it up.
will come back 90% of the cases.

Im not sure we quite understand... Thought you were flashing the software... Not resoldering something..

You said 'flux' and heat them up???

you´re right. What i mean is that the buggy on the first ones (v 1.04, 28-08-01, npc-1, nmpcsd ver.842.01) wasn´t a software problem. It was hardware soldering problem (chame on nokia). A bga called safari just need a litlle hot.... :D . I´m afraid that people miss this step and go straigh to flash...

@thiana

Hmmmm, since we never see 3320's never checked if Nok even had a FSB on it..

Looked at the FSB for the 3360 and it didnt mention having any hardware issues... It didnt mention the software problems and to relfash. Have you seen any 3360's with the same hardware problem?

Br,
Phonedudes :) :)

Hey, Hlopezleon or Thina (or Phonedudes or Ismael or Hafftrak),

Would you like to be more specific? If you want help, give us some additional details. From what you said so far it's not easy to figure out what you're saying or doing. What seems to be the problem?

This is what we've learned so far:
A) The devices are Nokia 3320, all of them -- is this correct?
B) When you receive them, the existing S/W is version 1.04 -- is this correct?
C) With the 1.04 S/W already in the device they're working fine. Is this correct?
D) You want to upgrade the S/W, and therefore you load S/W version 2.06. Is this correct?
E) After you've installed version 2.06, you notice some very obvious issues. Is this correct?
F) Issue #1 is "it star blocking out it self, turning off". I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you be more specific?
G) Issue #2 is "most of them get "out of service". I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you be more specific?
H) Your fix (i.e solution) is to "flash them several times". This is a big jump here. You reeeeealy need to be specific here. I'm not sure what you mean. Can you be more specific?
J) After this fix "some of them work but the rest become a big pain in the ass". I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you be more specific?

Rob

I get 3360's in as parts and I've had them as phones that I've used. In total I've come across about 75 and about 60 of them either the phone would freeze, then reboot or the phone would eventually say no service. The 3360 is the worst phone Nokia has made in my opinion. I kinda new to software troubleshooting, so dats all I know

Naaaah, no fun was intended.

This is how it all started: Yesterday I noticed Hlopezleon's original question, and I couldn't figure out what his real question was. Also, those who responded so far didn't seem to give him a good enough answer either. I'm a EE as well as a SWQA Engineer, so I thought maybe I give you guys a hand. That's why I responded.

Today I sort of regret it because I noticed the original question was asked a great many months ago.

Also, I sort of regret that I responded because I find it hard to post anything on this board -- sometimes I have to sign in six (6) times before my reply is successfully posted. And I don't have a lot of time. Today, for example, I've already signed in 3 times, but and I'm still getting a "you're not signed in" error message every time I hit "preview" or "submit reply". This is no fun.

Sounds like 'cookie problems' like 'green gerbil' stated or 'java scripting' issues...

Never have that type of problem with this forum..
