I am planning ahead... before getting my N6630 I have been looking in to prices for the RS-MMC.
This is the best I have found so far...
http://www.mobymemory.com/RSMMC_Memory_Cards.asp
£50 for 512MB
£24 for 256MB
£15 for 128MB
But the N6630 isnt mentioned in their compatability list.
Any known compatability issues with MMC's?

Hey,
I wouldn't buy one of these cards if I were you mate.
Looking quick through their specs I do not see Dual Voltage mentioned at all and will not work because of it.
Remember the 6630 use's newer Dual Voltage RS-MMC cards, which at present are not commercially available above 64mb.
Samsung in the past two weeks have supposedly released a full lineup of DV rs mmc's but I am yet to see them for sale.
From reading various forums I don't think they will be available until Jan/Feb 2005.

So much for the "RS-MMC" to be able to be used by any RSMMC/MMC device (with the adaptor)
So a RS-MMC won't work on the 6630 ... but with a DV-RSMMC work on 7610?

Hey,
No worries, your welcome.
This is a subject close to my heart as I brought a 512mb KingMax RS-MMC to use in my 6600 temporary until I got the 6330. Done really well on it's price to only to find out I can't use it, am awaiting the 663o arrival just to make sure, but reading the forums they don't.
Also in my travels I've seen the standard 7610 rs-mmc which comes in the phone bundle works on the 6630, rumour has it they are DV RS MMC's also.
Why Nokia have done this I do not know, or atleast retained back compatability.

The 7610 runs on about 3v, normal rsmmc cards run at 2.6v - 3.3v. The 6630 runs at 1.8v, dvrsmmc cards run at 1.8v - 3.3v so they'll work in anything.
By far the cheapest place for mmc's is ebay.

RSMMC actually has two separate voltage ranges it operates in. Something like 1.5-1.8 V and 2.6-3.3 V.
Why? Simple: less power consumption and advancement of technology. Where would we be if all cars still got 5 km/L (10 mpg for all my fellow americans... damned non-metric system). Same principle. Gotta change the standard sometime.
However, my sentiments go out to the people who dropped more than $100 on a new 512MB RSMMC only to find out they couldn't use them with their shiny new 6630.

God damnit ... I bought a 512MB RS-MMC for my 7610.
And its most likely ... that future phones won't take RS-MMC ... but DV instead?
Ach ... reckon I should quickly sell it while I have a chance?

I would if I were you. Wait till Jan. or Feb. and the DV cards are coming out; then you can buy a Samsung 256 DVRSMMC (good lord that's getting to be a long abbreviation - 7 letters now). Good luck selling the one you got now.
Unless of course you plan on keeping the 7610 for more than another year; in that case keep the one you've got. No reason to change until your phone needs it.
