OK, here is the way to unlock a Tesco Nokia 1100, worked on my 5th and final try!:
Go to http://unlock.nokiafree.org/
Use the top (Dct4) calculator
Enter your IMEI and select "United Kingdom - Tesco" from the dropdown.
Then select "Griffin Clip" (this is where I was going wrong before) and phone type of ASIC2 and just make sure you entered the IMEI and resulting code CAREFULLY!
