Hi guys!!!
Well Mehdi's Ringtone Manager and PPMSplitter all worked fine with my 5110 because I can calculate FAID with tek or FaidMonster.
While doing tone changing in 3310 I came accross a prolem: What FAID Calculator to use with this phone? EEPROM TOOLS 3.0 and NK_CALC does not update FAID correctly because I sont signal after FAID calculation using this custom PPMs.

Please post a solution on how to do this right. Thank You!!!!

So this means u have to use B-phreaks logger, then tek calculator and write calculated log to phone.. am I right?
By the way have you tested it with v5.13? my phone (3310) is 5.13, So I guess this is why teks calculator did not work for my phone.

I'll just try to test again... Thank you Abe!!

@Yolly: 3310 ver 5.xx cannot updated FAID if you change text or ringtones at PPM. Downgrade it to 4.xx for working fine...

Ok, as I suspected earlier on, this can't be done on 5.xx, Thanks man.

So Ringtones customization is up to 4.xx only. I wonder why EEPROM tools and NKCALC cannot update FAID correctly? What with this custom PPM that makes it so difficult for them to calculate FAID properly in v5.xx 3310?

Anyway, I will stay with v5.13 in my 3310 and just add tones to my 5110 /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for replying guys!

"I wonder why EEPROM tools and NKCALC cannot update FAID correctly?"

FAID is calculated from PPM Checksum & MSID
PPM Checksum is located in the PPM and for the same bytes it is the same.
EEPROM Tools & NK_Calc use a table to find the PPM Checksum
(NSE-1 v1.23 package Z checksum = 123456)
Tek's calculator takes as an input the flash so it can read the PPM Checksum from the file.
If you change something on the PPM, the checksum will be different but the info the same, so the table based programs will get the standard's checksum to calculate the FAID so the FAID will be wrong. Tek's calculator will take as input your flashfile.
Table based programs will create the same FAID as tek's if you give to calculator for flashfile the old one (not modified)
I hope I made the things clear /n/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
