3 internet acess

hi i have been thinking about the internet acess available on the 3 network and i think it is a bit restricting compared to what all the other companies offer, then had an idea, would it be possible to add a new internet account on the 3 handset but use the proxy settings and everything from my other phone which is on 02. does anybody think this would work and if so how safe is it. also does anybody know if 3 are going to be offering a wider range of the internet on their phones any time soon.
