Hi i need some help ....
i did a warranty transfer on two 8860's
it said transfer complete but the serial number is not changing on the new phone...
when you press *#warranty# its the new serial number but when you press *3001#12345# you get the phones original serial number...
what is wrong
if you enable field test and go to menu 6 you get error 3 at the bottom........


the old phone now says contact service??

sorry it does not say error 3 is says fail 3

To re-enable the original phone, just use factory reset on wintesla.


And try that option too on the receipient phone. Might Help

When doing a warranty transfer the ESN will NOT change...
What you see when you do *#warranty# is exactly that the Warranty Exchange # that is NOT the actual ESN.

As far as having the error 3 sounds like the phone isnt registering with the network...

Did the phone actually work for sure before you did the xfer? If so did you alter the eeprom data at all?

You can try what 'ismael_mj23' suggested as in doing so the phone will take the TRUE esn and write it back to the eeprom area. You must do a Factory Fix default do NOT do a FULL FACTORY RESET!
