the problem is that I canīt make it work. :(
I have installed the drivers for the cable and I can find the "Prolific stuff" in the device manager as COM3 but I canīt access the phone through Nokia PC Suite or Oxygen II. :???:

Iīm using Windows XP SP2

I am having a similar issue, except that it worked before and it doesn't now. I am going to try to reinstall the drivers. If you find something else is causing it, please post it.

I just dump the Suckers long time ago since i bought the Infra-Red because i tried them with both Xp pro & 98 SE, and no show. but recent i just found out that most of the nokia phones which currently in market are supported by Bluetooth & DKU's, no IrDA.
I've tried all the tricks (install this first & that First, With that & this).
No show.
May be this time someone can get an answer.

OK dear friend,

Here's what I think you should do,

After you've installed cable's driver's, it is shown in your device manager
so you can go there and see what com port it is exactly (com3,4,..)
Anyhow, in your pc suite you will have to go to "Nokia Connection Manager".

Set the connection to the right com port(the one with prolific ...)

It takes a little while after that, but your phone will show up!
(Note: Phone has to be turned on with sim inside!) ;-)
