Quality, only worry is frame rate but if anyone can pull it off it's vampent, mind you if it runs at all on the ngage it should run sweet on the 6630 :-D

I had already started my DL of snes roms. So far i got 26 snes roms. Some of my favorites like, Donkey Kong Country, Doom, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat 1,2 & 3, Ms. Pac-Man, Primal Rage, Samurai Shodown, Street Fighter Alpha 2 & Test Drive 2. So i'll be ready as if my name was Fred, 2 play Vsun. When it is released. :-)

I think with the skills of these programmers, there will be an GBA emu too.
Maybe it shouldn't work @ ngage and other SymbianOS6 phones, but it shud run fine on the new phones like 6630.

lol - don't blind yourself ... I don't believe in a GBA-Emu. My 300 Mhz Laptop can hardly handle them...

I am also sceptical about the framerate on my sx1, because the NES-Emu is totally laggy on the sx1 (it has more power than 6600, n-gage, etc.), but they a re unable to fix it... :(

I know Vampent are 1337 at S60 emus but running a decent SNES rom takes quite some power. There will never be a GBA emu though...

Picodrive is really a nice piece of work! Maybe THE Emu at the moment!
I don't care about sound, because I only play at locations where sound or a headset would be disturbing...

Vampent have my respect only by fixing their emus for the sx1! ^^

Their 2 Emus are nice for Nokia-Cellphones, but I would mention them in one sentence with GoBoy and Picodrive.

I would call them gods by developing a smooth snes/gba-emu !

Megadrive is the most advanced machine anyone has emulated on s60 so far, if I'm not wrong. I like Pico a lot cause it plays some of the games I had on my Amiga. I hope there's a new version soon. They should ditch the sound and fix some compability problems, but i agree it's a good emulator.

Without sound it should be possible.

- Dave is a hobby-programmer, vampent are comercial ones
- picodrive runs on sx1, too - vampent's emus not

I would think that Vampent's emulators would run on Siemens SX1, seeing that it is a S60. I like the Siemens SX1 myself. It's design is awesome, as well as it's color LCD. I really hope Vsun will work on the Siemens SX1. What a great cellphone. Wouldn't mine having 1 myself. :)

Yeah...but the design is weird, even weirder than 3650. I think SX1 has the worst button placement of all S60-phones. Still, it's not a half bad phone.

The design of it looks really cool 2 me. It would definitely be a little weird 4 me 2 use the buttons, but like everything else. I would have gotten used 2 it in time. I give the SX1 on a scale of 1 to 10, an 8. :smile:

Ok, maybe I would get used to it. I got used to 3650's round keypad, but I still type much faster on QD's normal keys. But SX1 is probably a good phone. I've only tried it in a shop, so I'm no expert. :)

Well, I had a 7650 and i still have a N-Gage, but my SX1 is my favorite.

And your're right: The Keylayout is a pain (but cool)! You can never write as fast, as with a normal layout! But you can be fast enough by using 2 hands.

The phone is smaller than 6600 and it's blue keylights are so cool!

And it has a radio and the best Stereo-MP3-Player in all of the present cellphones. The quality is awfully good. Another pro is the downgradet 170 MHZ CPU and that you can flash it yourself very easily (you can fix nearly every softwareerror)...

After one year I am still convinced, maybe only the new 6630 is better...

But btt:

Vampent don't have the SX1, so they can't fix the lag-problems. Their 2 Emus have perfect sound, but the framerate is maybe 1/sec. :(

So I would think, that vSUN will have the same problem...

I will present myself as betatester for sx1 ...

Well, I said, only on the SX1 the 2 emus does run with ~ 1 fps! On Nokia they are fast, i know...

But picodrive on the sx1 is fast, too.

God I can't wait for 2 reasons really.

1, SNES was my favourite console. All FF games, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and all. Can't wait to kill some RPGs while bored at work.

2, I remember just after the first GB emulator was released for S60 I had a long long argument on these forums saying that SNES emulation could be possible someday, to which many many members on here ripped me for saying that. Does it still seem impossible? How times change :razz:

Forgot to add, anyone know if the translated Star Ocean rom is still about? Got original 2 and 3 here, but since one was a Japan only release, I wouldn't mind seeing where it all began.

I've got the same firmware. I've tried more roms since I made that post and some run better than others but they all run at an acceptable pace, unlike my ngage where some games run ok and the rest are too slow to play. If you ask me 80% speed is pretty sweet but really it's all relative.

yeah i tried some other games... secret of mana (letter errors when name entry), terranigma, speed was nice but no sound at all...

some games were slow which decrease the fun , like mario allstars
