Hi,
this is my ringtone experience.
I have used for editing ringtones RingtoneManager an PPMsplitter&... by mehdi (thanks 4 the prog !!!). First I have removed from 3310 5.13 ppm pack B 5 tones and then I've added 5 tones (from 3210 and 3310). Then I've recalculated checksums and with dejan 1.05 flashed it into the phone. After that my 3310 didn't have signal, but it is normal because dejan box can't update 3310 and other from 5.xx version. Then I've updated MSID with eeprom tool by dejan, mbus faid calculator by tek, faid calculator 4 b-phreaks logger by tek and faid calculator for koci logger, but the phone didn't have network!!! After that, I've ONLY added 10 tones in a 3310 4.45 ppm pack B(if I remove have no signal...), flashed with dejan 1.05 and now my 3310 is WORKING FINE!!!!!

But why if I edit 5.13 ppm it have no network?? (after faid recalculation)

B.R.

Bye

PS: there is some bugs in Ringonemanager :
1) after remove a tone if you want do another operation the program say "invalid ppm files!" and you have to exit from prog and then re-open it.
2) after add a ringtone if you want do another operation appear a runtime error "File alredy open"

one reason why auld sang instead of valk. is bec. they have the same index number... medhi will surely correct this.. /n/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif every nokia tone has it's tone index nmber. if it happens that they r the same the first one will be played. like for ex.
if on 3210 there is 30 tones and index number from tone 1 to tone 30 is.
tone1 = 0001
tone2 = 0002
upto to
tone 30 =0030

then u try adding some new tone but the new tone index nuber is within 1-30. then the result is like what u mentioned.

hope this helps.

Called in MCU by index number.
Index=byte, max 256 Ringtones!
Correct?

It's possible to change this value in MCU? What are the addresses?

Mr. NokDoc, if there can be veryverymany tones, why does my 5510 play eg. mcu-tones (game,sms) when toneid in ppm is like 146 in decimal?
i don't remember those toneid's, but they were over 128 in decimal if i remember, had to change them below 128 to hear them in phone...

or is this only 5510 bug, or error in somewhere in ppm?
because i didn't do changes to mcu when i first changed ringtones.
