i have tried it out on my 7610 with super mario kart ... it works ... and i don't wanna totally slam it because it does work ... but it is sluggish ... even without, which is choppy at best ...

-every game i tried so far is affected by low framerate (of course forget about any kind of sound setting - it slows down emulation next to unplayability)

-176x208 screen resizing could be better (this affect text reading especially), pico & frodo resizing look a bit smarter

-some games that heavily use mode7 don't run (i.e. Axelay)

-very tricky to get the 'job' done with 7610 awful 4way pad and keypad

These flaws don't change the fact that Vampent achieved a milestone in s60 story.They got my admiration.As soon they will accept payment from other ways than credit card,i will buy it.
Anyway i strongly think that speedwise there is very small room for improvement on s60 devices (apart from 6630).
They got as far as they can on current s60 chipsets.Hope they prove me wrong.

All my hope rely on 3230,who features a proper joystick (in the likes of 7650,even if it still had 4 way it's a lot easier to use),more system memory and same ARM core of 6630.

Perfect? I downloaded Mario World, Mario Kart and F-Zero from a certain Russian rom site, and all ran like a crippled dog on my 6630, sound on or off :-?

What kind of settings are you using? And which version of vSun (4096 colour or 65K colour)?

without an fps counter how can you say works ok, it does not?

Even the sound is slow that time. And it makes really now difference on the SX1 to play with or without sound.

On my N-Gage it only runs aceptable without sound... it's not a hit but it's ok...

But a nice feeling, playing SNES on a S60-Phone! :)

I think I would only buy it if Vampent starts supporting the SX1 (which has 30 MHZ more than N-Gage). But they are ignorants! ;P

vSUN on the 6630 also has some great potential, where they have to redo some work...

Ok, I just tested the demo on a 6600 and an offline n-gage.

It looks better on the 6600 because of it's superior display but performance seems just a tad better on the n-gage.
However, speed is... SLOW. As expected. Please do not get your hopes up. Not even Vnes runs at 100 %.
Most action games are unplayable as it is. With or without sound.
Some people might be able to enjoy their favourite RPGs.

Still, props must be given to the developers :

the emulation seems very correct. Graphics are spot on and the sound (slow, yes) is emulated faithfully, contrary to Picodrive's "sound".

Worth buying ? No, not yet.
If they can tweak the speed so it runs like picodrive... yes.
Also, forget about sound! It will never run good on current mobiles with sound.

It's not 2 bad on my QD. It's a toss up between no sound/no lag or sound/with lag. So i'm playing it without sound.

What do I think of vsun? I think it's impressive that they have made a snes-emu with sound, that runs on a 104 mhz phone. All games that I have tried on my N-gage QD however, is unplayable with sound on. Even without sound, only a few of the games runs at a almost acceptable speed. That said, still some of the games I tried run at an ok speed.

I've compared a couple of games that was released on both Megadrive and SNES; Mortal Kombat and Another World/Out of this world. MK runs perfectly on Picodrive, but is almost to slow to play on vsun. Same with Out of this world. The games look a little better in the SNES-versions perhaps, but not enough to choose to play them on vsun instead of pico.

Then there is the problems with the various resolutions in vsun. There are three two choose from but they all have problems:

256x224: The picture is bigger than the screen. Graphics look ok.

176x208: The picture fits perfectly, but it makes the graphics look crappy.

224x256: Turned 90 degrees, and bigger than the screen. On N-gage/QD it's far from optimal to have the d-pad on top.

The maker of Picodrive seems to have solved these problems. I hope later versions of vsun will do the same.

And I don't know where all these reports of it running "perfectly" on the 6630 come from; it runs all the games I've tried like a complete dog (Super Mario World, Mario Kart, F-Zero, Donkey Kong 1 and 3, and a few more). Yes, it's impressive that it works, but at the moment it's just an expensive gimmick, nothing more.

my point was that pico and vsun are both good emu`s but i like the vampent`s vsun more since they give it out with 100% sound emulation and then people can see how it work and that are really slow!and alot want sound on pico too but it`s not worth it anyway since it are too slow on todays s60 phones so i don`t blame any of the emu`s i like them both and ag are also doing a greate job!maybe my first post on this could be missunderstanded :P
