I have a 7610b (RH-52) phone which is currently locked to Cingular (USA). I have tried 3 attempts each on 2 phones using the NokiaFree Calculator but all unsuccesful. I have tried using the Asic 2 with both V2 and T-Mobile box serial. And I usually tried the first code. I have read in these forums that code 7 should be used first then code 1, is that true? What else can I try? I only have 2 attempts left.

Use the "T Mobile" box serial on the Nokia Free Calc.

Are these the correct settings for the 7610b (RH-52) locked to Cingular USA?
Type: Asic 2
Box Serial: T-Mobile 32802
MCC+MNC: 31017000 for USA - Cingular
Code: Use first code
I read in the forum that you should use the 7th code then the 1st code, is that necessary?

Canon, think we're in the same situation. I also have a Cingular 7610b. I've downloaded the Code Calculator v3.1 and attempted to unlock the phone with no success.
The first two attempts, I used the 1st and 7th code generated w/ the following selections:
- 7610b (RH-52)
- IMEI
- USA
- CINGULAR - Pacific Bell
- MCC+MNC: 31017000 (default)
- Asic2 (default)
- V2 (default)
- 33820 (default)
The third attempt, I read your post about changing the box code to 32802. I used the 1st code generated w/ the following selections:
- 7610b (RH-52)
- IMEI
- USA
- CINGULAR - Pacific Bell
- MCC+MNC: 31017000 (default)
- Asic2 (default)
- V2 (default)
- 33802
Let's hope someone can help!

SKG.....
I went to a friend who has a mobile store and does unlocking of phones and he couldn't do it either. Have you tried with the T-Mobile box serial with V2 Asic yet?
Hope someone out there has more luck. The firmware is version 4.04 or something like that. I was told that the older version of the firmware works because I had a friend that got it to unlock, but apparently this new version of the firmware is a bit trickier.
HELP....anyone out there????

For the 7610b on Cingular Use 31017 as the MCCMNC, T-Mobile serial, ASIC 5, and code +1# only.
Enter the code only once, check the number entered very carefully before you press the final #, make sure there is no SIM card in the phone.
Report what happens when you press the final #
If it instantly returns to "Insert SIM" then you can't unlock the phone with codes.
It is gives a message then there is hope...

ninjana,
we know the AT&T 6620 is ASIC2, and I am not saying there are not versions of the 7610b that are ASIC2, but I've unlocked many 7610b from Cingular with ASIC5.. of those that are locked in the first place of course..
also, there are 2 people already on this thread who have failed to unlock the phone with asic2

I only have one chance left, so I do not want to risk it yet until it is certain that all the parameters are correct.
You said that you have unlock other 7610b from Cingular with the settings you mentioned, was the software version 4.0440.2 ?

I've never made a note of the software version, and so could not say, as it is your last try it is up to you if you wish to take the risk!
Before you try any more codes though, have you attempted to use a non-Cingular SIM card in the phone? If you have, did the phone say "SIM not valid", or a different message?

Download the NokiaFree 3.10 Calc, at least it is the one that I use, and always has give me good results.
Now, you have 5 tries to unlock the phone via codes. After that, the only way to unlock the phone is via cable.
When you generate the codes you will get a set of seven codes. First try the seventh code. If it doesn't work, try the first one. TRY EACH OF THEM JUST ONCE. To enter the codes, take out the sim of your phone, power it, and when it says "Insert SIM card", type in the codes. To get the "p", "w", and "+", press "*" a couple of times and you will see that the cursor starts to display the Ps and Ws. I can`t remember exactly the number of times that you have to press "*" to get each of them specifically, but you will figure it out.
And, let me give you an advice. Next time, read the FAQs. This is everything on the Unlocking FAQs ;)
Best regards, best luck, and post results!
Cheers

I've inserted a T-Mobile SIM card into the locked 7610b and the message reads "SIM card not valid". Was there something specific you were looking for in terms of the message?

My guess is that he was just making sure that the phone was indeed locked. And for the message that it displayed, is locked for sure...

For what I see, you have to enter this settings:
Network code: T-Mobile
ASIC: 5
GEN (or boxSN): 32802
try with that, the seventh code, and if it doesn't work, the first code. TRY THEM JUST ONCE. If it doesn't work, post again.
Best regards
Edge
ps: in your previous question you asked how to access the menu to enter the codes, that's why answered that, and not specificly for your phone. Hope this now helps a little bit more!

asic 5 PHONES
What should he do?
Try just the first one? As i understand, the seventh code unlocks all the other locks. Now, if the seventh doesn't work, the whole set of codes is wrong. But maybe has changed, I've been out of the GSM-scene for almost a year... probably I need an update.
Thanks ninjana, waiting for info

canon.. I just bought a 7610b (Firmware 4.0440.2) that was locked to cingular, and i succesfully unlocked it following this procedure:
Download the NokiaFREE Unlock Codes Generator 3.10 here:
http://unlock.nokiafree.org/NokiaFREE_v310_Nokia_unlock_codes_calculator.zip
Once you've unziped and installed the App, run it from Start > All Programs > NokiaFree Calculator > NokiaFree Calculator.
Once the app is running go into Options and check "Expert Mode" then click "Back".
Here is a screenshot of the values i entered:
http://www.arcaner.com/7610setup.jpg
Obviously you'll need to change IMEI to your IMEI number. The small text box on the right seems to just be a copy of the last number of your IMEI, so just make sure it matches up.
Once you have everything in correctly, press Calculate. I entered (per muppetman's instructions) the 1st code with NO SIM CARD in the phone, and it worked like a charm. Make sure you take out the SIM and boot up the phone before entering the code (not sure if it makes a diff, but it might).
After succesfully entering the code, I saw a message to the affect of "SIM Card Unlocked" (not exactly, but something like that). after this just shut it down, pop in your other network's SIM and you should be all good. (It worked fine for my T-Mobile SIM).
Also, Here is my firmware version info:

I've noticed that both you and muppetman list the box serial as "32801" instead of the T-Mobile box serial of "32802". Is 32801 the correct box serial that you used to unlock your phone? I just want to confirm before I use up my last attempt.
BTW.....how did you come up with the box serial of 32801, it is not listed as a known box serial on any of the unlocking calculator?

So if your phone, when you enter any code's that end with +1, returns immediatly back to the "Insert SIM Card" then any unlock codes won't work? However, if I try codes with +7 at the end it says "Code Error" DO I still have ANY hope?!
