Hi,

Just unlocked a Nokia 3220 from Orange (UK), thanks to those who made the software and posted tips.

Calls and texts all working but don't seem to be able to set up MMS etc.

Is there a way round this by cable or will I need to take the phone in somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

you can get the settings sent to you from the Nokia site direct

text message direct to your phone

No joy with that.
Network isn't listed. Tesco!

Settings are pretty much the same as O2 but different username/password. Can't get in to change them or set up a new config.

Been told by Tesco that updating the phone software will work.
Can I do that myself? Will be getting a PC cable anyway.

Or is there a way to get the security code and restore factory settings?

only if the software you update the phone with is TESCO software, i dont think many TESCO stores have flashing facilities, it probably have to be sent off for that, but surely they can just send the setting, ORANGE, VIRGIN, T-MOBILE, VODAFONE, O2 all do that, did it for my girlfriends 3220, unlocked from orange and got O2 to send the settings and all worked

Thanks for the reply.

They sent the settings to the 3510i that I've just ditched but one of the models they can't send the settings to is the 3220 for some reason.

Wanted to stick with the Tesco PAYG for cheaper calls and texts to favourite numbers. Might have to switch to someone else if it won't work.

just switch to O2 online pay as you go, 300 free text a month

Works out cheaper if I send more than 200 in a month.

Will give it a while and let the credit run out and see how many I've sent. Tesco might have caught up with sending the settings by then, parterned with O2 so they might do.

Thanks for the help/advice.

theres a thread on here about unlocking the gprs on the Nokia 6630, maybe that will give you some pointers ???

Got there in the end! Bit of stubborness paid off.
Wasn't locked like Tesco helpline said it was.

Settings are all on here

Just had to figure where they all went and that the port number should have been 8080 not what they had listed.

Thanks again.
