Hi guys,
I am writing this email to ask the list for a very peculiar thing:
I have two 3310s that I totally reprogramed with v5.47 software and then using the Jordik tool change the IMEI (to their original), also calculate FAID and unlock them.
We try them on an Orange SIM Card pay as you go:

The one of these 3310 says: SIM registration failed
The other one accepts the card OK!

As I said a have a complete (2MB) file v5.47 for a 3310 that I always write to a new 3310 then I change IMEI, calculate FAID and unlock. So both phones they had the same (v5.47) flash file!

My own phone is a 8210. I tried this Orange SIM card on my phone and ... I got also a "SIM registration failed"! But why? Why one of the 3310 accepts the card and the other 3310 (and mine 8210) does not?

Anybody knows? (eeprom problem perhaps?)
I add that all phones will accept BT Cellnet easily and other nets. First time I see this issue with the pay as you go Orange card!

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated!

Did the orange sim come from the one of the phones? Orange store sim and imei numbers maybe its paired to the imei?

probably dont help at all

the "sim card registration failed" message appears on your handset because orange have barred the handset for reasons such as contract cancelled, lost or stolen handset etc etc. the only way to get the mobile working on orange again is to change the imei. hope this clears things up.

Thanks. Yes I have found already that changing the IMEI number of the non-working phone to the one of the working makes both phones accept the card. It was indeed a contract phone from Orange that it was canceled and switched to O2 instead.
