retrieve all sounds like it would be getting all the ringtones from another flash file, not cutting them down to 7kb files !! :mad:

Im sure you know we are going to tell you it does NOT work with the TDMA flash files...
Not sure how you are determining where the ppm section is. Whether you simply loop through looking for the ppm header or use set pointers... But the ppm header of tdma flashes is identical. So your prog displayed 'No ppm found'

On to the 'Americas' GSM type files it worked on most. We didnt appear to have any problems using the retrieve function whether it be one by one or retrieve all. However we didnt reflash to check but it did retrieve and save them in what appeared to be the complete tone.

The flash files that cause problems were the ones that your prog could not determine the model # of phone and displayed 'unknown'. These caused the program to crash and NOT be able to exit!! You need to have 'on error ' set to halt the program or something.

Could you explain a little bit about the 'alert tone explorer'. Not sure if that functions correctly or what.

I open my 6150 flash file, and select retrieve tones and select my 5210 flash file to get its tones.... however, it chops my 5210 flash file down to 7kb

it does this on all flash files... 6210, 7110, 3315 etc
retrieve tones does NOT retrieve tones from the flash file

try this. if u want to get the tonversion section of the ppm. like for ex, u have a 35 ringtones on a 3210. then the retrieve option will get the said section and save it. so most probabdly the size depends on the ringtones.

sadly the demo. don't allowed u to saved the flash only the ringtone in *ton format.

save option for retrieve all and retrieve one is allowed so that if u try to add rtttl. u will be able to retirve it in ton format and can evaluate if my convertion is correct. but it will be trouble some as u will need to use some other way to insert it on the mcu/ppm flash. i would really appreciate some reports as i will try to improve it...

Can you explain what exactly the 'alert tone explorer' is supposed to do. A lot of the boxes dont appear to display the entire text so we cant read some but not sure what each function is supposed to do.

i recently include a "play" button so that we can hear rtttl first on the speaker.

i will upload it on saturday.

- it can change alert tone SMS (longer). depends on free space under MCU!
- as of now it can change all SMS alerts and some more alerts.
- it uses RTTTL tones and convert it into alert tones/ringtone.

i will recheck the demo.. why it expired. just try d/l the latest demo version and i think it should work.

it could change ringtone and alerts. same as ppmedit or flashtone. the difference as of now is that.

it could accept or convert rtttl w/ special effect.
ton format, whethere apac/finland/62xx. as source.
it has playtone preview.

for ex. if u want to change/insert a ton format on your alerts or ringtone. and it so happen that ur ton format is apac. u can use kxplorer and it will auto convert and put it on a finland format. the ton format as i know is 3 types.. apac/finland/62xx.

as of today. i am not yet so sure, how much i plan to sell. i will start selling on version 1.1. what i am doing is updating and trying to fix some bugs and improve the program till it reaches 1.1 and will start selling.

that's why i did release the demo to find out if there r bugs. yep, i know it's limited but it's better than none. 8-) actually u can use the dem as a converter from rtttl to ton format.

Bugs reporting

When i add ringtone, try to delete ringtones betweeen number 1 till 10, will encounter error. But deleting ringtone number 11 or more, error won't happen.

bug is if u add then delete. but if u just delete it's ok.

this happens because of un initialize variable on the add routine. 8-)

bugs reporting

basically, the bug is after changing any ringtone (deleting won't trigger the bug) then change any alert tone (standard/special/Beep once/Ascending) with any ringtone you like. Then click "recalc PPM".
Boom...
"Access violation at address 00000013. Write of address 047FDCD8"
But... when i click "Recalc MCU" 1st, before "recalc PPM", bug won't be triggered.

it's really nice to hear that u do take time to use kxplorer and reports bugs. anyways, i did try ur report;

this what i did;

open 3310 5.59 G
change 2 ringtone
change the standard. ( i use *ton format on both)

then recalc ppm.

anyway i will still check what u said. but i suspect that the demo has some un initialize var that the reg has that i remove.

i will still try to release ver 1.0f maybe by 2morow.

btw on the ringtone add/change/retrieve if the format of the inputted ringtone is ok. it will not have access violation and u will see the dialog box that said recalc PPM okay.

No, when changing (both on ringtone and aler tone) do not use ton format, use RTTL format instead. I use 3210-600.fls with C lang pack. But i'm sure this bug will occur on all nokia flash file.

Another bug i found :
In the (alert Tone/Ring Tone/PlayTone) try to play/add any non Nokring file.
This text file should contain plain text, not RTTL file (try it with netlog.txt or detlog.txt, both lie in C: dir ). Then it shows :
"This program has performed an illegal operation."
And suddenly quit.
I tried this method to several similar programs.
1. Logo Manager; doesn't sound (offcourse; because not nokring format) but not quit. :-)
2. Nok2Phone ; shows message box "The file being opened is not in Nokring format". And not quit. :-)
3. CodingWorkshop ; doesnt sound (offcourse; because not nokring format) but not quit. :-)
4. PPMEdit 1.0h ; same with KxPlorer. :-( I've emailed tnp about this.

Ok, the problem when changing both ringtone and alertone is when i use long tone. File is at attachment.
please use this file for changing both ringtone and alert tone. You will encounter the bug. You may ask me why i use long tone for alert tone? Well, for ascending mode in alert tone, we should/can use a long tone, am i right?

yes. if u try to load a *.txt that doesnot contain rttl. it will have unexpected result. this is bec. i have not yet done a file routine to check first if it's a valid rtttl file. but i will do it for sure.
i think what i just use there is check the last 3 char of the file. or file extension.

i think if my memory serves me right try it on 6210 ppm. i think the file routine there is different than the one i use on the 3xxx.
it will check the content of the said file.. thou, not so sure yet.
they r not yet the same bec. i am still experimenting on it.

but it will be fixed for sure.

about the long ringtone. yes, will chk it. u can use long alerts even on beep once... 8-)


ok. hav just check what u mentioned. the bug about banderie did not occur here. i think the main reason for your bug is demo.. i will try to check the uninitialize variables that could cause the bug on demo and fix it..

About the "playtone" menu, the speed is (still) too fast. Timing is not correct yet. Please correct it.
I hope your convertion from rttl to .re will be as good as PPMEdit.
I can't check current demo's convertion because it doesn't allow me to save.

yes. the play tune routine can be easily adjusted. i am using a jurasic pentium 166mmx. 8-) sometimes the sound is not quite right..

u could try to load rtttl on ringtone and saved it. there u will be able to see the convertion.

kxplore can convert rtttl with special effect. i did try to run ppmedit demo and tried to convert an rtttl w/ special effect and noticed that ppmedit does not convert special effect. maybe in his ver 1.0h he has.

i do know also that i could adjust the octave. about the conversion of rtttl to re yes i can do some improvement with it. thou, i will need some samples.

tell u frankly... the routine are there it will just need some tweaking.

it's ok.. i mean ur bug reporting or suggestions.

Maybe because the main purpose of PPMEdit's creation is not ringtone convertion. So your main competitor would be Flashtone 2.10
In Flashtone 2.10, we can't make longer for alert tone, but yours can do that easily. As far as i know, there's no special effect in Flashtone 2.10, but yours has it as well.
Second competitor for your product would be MAKflashtone (now it's free). But believe me, its ringtone convertion is bad.

Flashtone is out of the scene since its development has stopped.

The author retires. MAK FLashtone is the real close competitor. It inherited the Flashtone vision plus it adds the capability to flash.

A ring tone and a flasher program I should say. :)

about rtttl convertion.. i base mine with luduz and in nokiafreesite and flashtone. 0a01-0afe is on/off vibra. will try to improve it more. the playtune also need some tweaking bec. low notes like croak doesnot sound ringht on the play tune... i did also try to compare it with logomanager and flashtone. not yet with mak flashtone and ppmedit but will do that for sure.

about special effect jdx1893 help me with his samples (rtttl w/s_effects). 8-)

the "s_effect" makes the tones sound cool... like the downloaded tones of SMART.

but if the rtttl has not special notes inside. no way.. i can convert it. maybe if i am a musician i could. 8-)

btw, i have not tried iguana. can it convert an ordinary rtttl w/o special effect into a ton that has special effect. if yes. then i must learn how.. to do that.. i will try iguana sw.. where can i d/l it?

i think the S=s is like the stacato on logomanager (SS). what this does is make a note into 2 notes. one long and one short.
S=c = continues, S=n = normal.

I found a bug (again?) in KxPlorer 1.0e
All ocatave tones will be converted lower. I mean if my rttl using o=6, then the output re will has 1 octave lower, it is o=5.
Please corret it.
Further research on using your sw, your sw is great great great!!!
I really really happy. And the sound effect is working as well. Using your rttl, baoduidui's (whatever the name is) sound is great. No distortion. :) I can assure you there's no bug about long tone (c,c sounded as long c). Cause i've tried many many rttl files. Bug about long tone still be found at PPMEdit 1.0h
( i thought it was Flashtone 21.0, now i realized it was PPMEdit 1.0h) But the advantages i can get from PPMEdit is much rather then this bug. Hei... i still can use your sw to convert my rttl by using retrieve all tones. But how?
It's easy. Since your current sw (1.0e) won't let me to save the flash file, i just simply insert or change my rttl. Then using retrieve all button. Save the file, seek my inserted tone in Hexworkshop. Then save it in new file. :)

about how u saved. yes. i really did allow the convertion so that ppl like u can test it. and am happy u do really test/use the sw.

u r right on how u used the retrieve all and hex or any program to insert the whole tone section..

it's just that it would be easier if i enabled the saved flash. 8-)

btw, i just added another optioned. this new optioned will allow u to retrieved those ringtones that we recieved. and it's save in ton/re format. 8-) sadly it will only be for registered user.

i could also include sending ringtone via mbus. it can use rttl or ton/re format then send via mbus to the saved ringtone.

I have few questions.
1.But why there are have different faid calculator1.1 by greenapple for modified flash? I never have seen this soft before. This means kxplorer generated flash file have different faid algorithm? So I can't apply faid with noktool1.8 or eeprom tools?
2. With kxplorer can I change edit flash version and date ?
3. Also I can add mcu free space? This free space came from mcu or ppm unused space? If I reserve space for mcu from ppm by this soft then can I use this mcu with another different ppm file?
