Yesterday I factory reset my nokia 7600 in order to use it in the straight GSM mode. However since I have done this, whenever I try to acces the "goto" menu on the phone or try and customise the "goto" menu options the phone just switches off. What makes it worse is that I can't define the right button as anything but goto as it is stuck on it. I have tried factory reseting the phone again however this made no differernce. Any ideas??

iv got this problem as well,ne 1 got any ideas?

as well as the above problem my phone decides to switch itself off sometimes. and wen i turn it back on the screen will light up but there's no text/images etc. After turnin it on/off, takin the battery out, throwin it around etc it works. Im assumin my software's retarded. Will a standard phone flashing do the trick?

ditto! I have exactly the same problem as well... I just sent my phone for a factory reset to enable the hidden menu. After the reset, accessing the GoTo menu will turn off the phone!

Please give solution - anyone... Thanks in advance.

Did you try a SOFTWARE ' Restore Factory Settings' In case some of your settings are messed up. Not via the serial cable but via, Menu, settings, restore factory settings, enter security code etc..

Just a suggestion, I was going to Hardware reset my phone so let me know how you get on.

most mobile phone shops should do it...except if ur in leeds which is shit and has nothin  . ul need a box (like a griffin or tornado) and the firmware software. i think the one ud want is firmware v4.03 (ne1 wanna pm me this?id be sooooo grateful ;) ) . there's a v4.05 but i think that has all the 3network settings (see 7600 FAQ thread).

like i sed itd be best u get it done at a shop and jus ask em to flash it with the latest firmware version (the ones above). id avoid places like carphone warehouse, cos they'l try to rip u off (£30 in some places!), take all ur details and say its takes over an hour to flash (it takes about 5).

Not always 5 mins to flash, the older computer with sub Giga Hertz processors take longer & they are unlikely to be flashing just one phone a day, so the phone will be placed in a queue, also if anything goes wrong (like the content pack failing to unpack or a restore failing) they have time to sort it out.

Got my serial Cable today, I have the '3' V4.05 (17-06-04) Firmware and done a full factory reset, using the FBUS program, Had to reboot my phone for the hidden menu to appear, also lost my phonebook entries but nothing else. I've tested the GOTO menu and it works as before. So this isnt a generic problem, maybe just a bug in the v3.05 firmware?
