Hi

I have a nokia 5110,

The problem is it wont work when i put an 02 sim card in? It comes up with security code. I have tried the security code that is in the manual into the phone but it doesn't work.

I tried using the free unlock software, but every code i have inputted just shows a message saying "sim card was not restricted",

can anyone please help?

thanks :-o

Security Code and Unlock Code are 2 different things.
You can find out your security code with an mbus cable.

I think the point is she doesn't have a cable.

The codes should work, but the fone still wont take the new sim.

There's another thread where a guy had the same message, but the answer was not helpful to this problem.

Somebody must have come across this - O2 cards should work on this model.

:-(

Do all other service provider sims work?

I HAVE ONLY A 02 & VODAFONE SIM. THE VODAFONE SIM WORKS BUT THE 02 DOESN'T. IT ASKS FOR A SECURITY CODE. :(

The phone won't ask for security code for the SIM card it was set upon ;) which looks like it was that Vodafone. If you try with a diff SIM but still from Vodafone i bet it will ask for the code.

That's the purpose of the security code: to block the phone to a unique SIM :-D

cheers

Your PIN has been entered incorrectly 3 times. Ring your Service Provider for your PUK Code.
