Gerard Wiener, director and general manager of the games business program at Nokia announced that a new, powered QD is about to be launched. He said that early next week Nokia will make an official announcement.Specs and new look of the device will be revealed.Rumors are that a faster processor is adopted, along with a better screen and WCDMA-CDMA support.Hope that Nokia finally at the third attempt will release the definitive and all inclusive N-Gage!So,dear friends, stay tuned and keep finger crossed until next week!

Good my N-Gage seems old & out of date but damn I just bought a 6630.

So if its got a better screen & faster processor does that mean the new games for it won't work on the current n-gages. Meaning our current N-Gage will come to an end.

meh the N-gage is still only a mobile phone I never really expected it to have 100's of top AAA games like consoles & specifice portable gaming devices like Gameboy & PSP.

I hope that it will have mp3, camera and downloadable games. People would buy more games if they could just download them to the phone. 3G is fast enough to download quite big games.

that will be sad for me :-( :-( :-(
I worked too hard to get my QD!! i really want that the new games will work on my QD hopefuly.
If that happened, if somebody got an extra one he can sell it to me with a cheap price!!

I really doubt we will se any photos or specs for the next N-Gage next week... They seem to be focused on reviving the QD with "new colors" right now (who gives a sh*t).

No way downloadble quality games through mobiles would be a joke.
a 20mb game would cost me $440 since Telstra charge 2.2 cents per 1kb

if it's converting to 262k screen....then i think most of the games would be compatitable with 6680 already..

I wish that we could download additional level packs, mods or whatever it takes to put additional value into already purchased games.By using CDMA this should be fast & not so expensive.BTW,games like SkyForce are 1 Mb size and rock as hell.So a quality game doesn't need to be 10+ Mb.

They also said that they're working on a brand new look & feel of the entire device. This maybe will include some upgraded or new features implemented.i hope so,who really wants a QD with different colors and no new features?NOBODY.I think Nokia knows that and will not make another mistake.

Yeah, but people could be able to choose if they want to buy the games on MMC or download them. Downloadable games would cost less. And according to my calculations, a 20mb game would take about 7 min to download with a 3G connection.

Just came across an interesting article on engadget:

"Not only is it not EOL for the N-Gage (remember: it still exists), but there’s some word on the street (more like back alley, but hey) about the specs for its possible next revision. A lot of the alleged features tip into some obscure hardware mumbo-jumbo that we can’t guarantee either ArcadeStation or perhaps even Nokia just invented out of thin air (you know how we love these purely speculative rumors), but click on for the run-down regardless.

-OMAP Full Compatibility
-90-nm CMOS System-on-a-Chip OMAP2420
-330-MHz Central Core with Floating Point Unit ARM1136JS-F
-220-MHz Digital Signal Processor for Audio TMS320C55x
-Video Playback and Image Display Imaging Video Accelerator
-VGA 30-fps Encode/Decode Full-Motion Video
-2D/3D Graphics Accelerator with SIMD Co-Processor PowerVR MBX with VGP
TBDR (Tile Based Deferred Rendering)
-200Mhz clock speed
-640x480 VGA Resolution
-360Mpixels, 2xOverdraw = 720Mpixels, 3xOverdraw = 1.08Gpixels
-ITC™ - PowerVR Internal True Colour - 32-Bit Blending and Depth Test Precision Independent from Buffer Depth
-FSAA4Free™ - Supersampling Full-Screen Anti-Aliasing With No Performance Lose
-DOT3 Per-Pixel Lighting Support
-Spherical Harmonics Lighting Support
-Bilinear, Trilinear, Anisotropic Texture Filtering Support
-Vertex Shader 1.1 Programmability with Skinning

That's it.

yes really nice... the advantage if you compare handhelds and ngage is the possiblity to use emus (perhaps with that features it is possible to make a gba emu for this phone) and ngage is known for its easy access point config to use pc internet in games

this far better than an PSP!!!
i think that even an Nintendo DS emulator can be made!!
and if it will be "OMAP Full Compatibility" linux could be ported easly and run all the Sharp apps!!

Any kind of N-gage is better than, DEAD PIXELS on a Sony PSP. Nobody couldn't give me a PSP 4 free. It would be in the trashcan that quick.

dead pixels? iv'e gotta PSP :) it's a hell of a lot better than the N-gage (which i also have) as for the dead pixels that was only on a couple of machines, AND, they fix it for free, out of then millions and billions of pixels world-wide 1 or 2 here or there isnt to bad,

Hey Maxice5000, 4 now ur PSP might be working correctly, but u should read this: Dead pixel problems on new PSPs? The cries have been heard, and there are many. It seems Sony pushed those 1 million PSP out to the US a little too quickly, with reports are swarming in regarding units with dead pixels. Some PSPs seem to have it worse than others: some have large groups of dead dots and even entire rows or columns. The unit we bought last night had a big dead one right smack in the middle of the screen. The folks at the Sony store were kind enough to replace our unit quickly and quietly, but reports from some online vendors are less promising. www.engadget.com

Things that PSP should have in it, but doesn't: 1. No alarm clock, 2. UMD volume discrimination, 3. No background screen customization, 4. No e-book reader or audiobook support, 5. No video out, 6. Rudimentary image-viewing application, 7. Completely PIM-less, 8. No Web browser, 9. No file management software, 10. Video complications.

The bottom line is that N-gage/N-gage QD still rules. And wait until the new N-gage comes out, i read on another website that Nokia is not going 2 hold back nothing from it's new N-gage. :D

fair enough those points you made but the PSP is a games machine, not a phone aswell, so extras like No alarm clock,
No background screen customization No e-book reader or audiobook support, that isnt avalible on anyother games machine, im mean an alarm clock on my PS2 or GBA wouldnt be much good, because there not ment to on all the time apart from the N-gage, and thats only because it's a phone, i got mine from japan, maybe thats why its all ok :)

Any news regarding the new n-gage model? The E3 had already begun, and only one more day left...or I am wrong?

I've read somewhere that nokia announced during the E3 that they will be launching a limited edition of n-gage, a silver one but don't know if it is a QD or the Original one, they also said that they will be expanding the n-gage games
on their different fones.
