View Full Version : Nokia 3650 AT&T-Cingular Circles- Unlock Code Needed

Before upgrading my Nokia 3650 phone (I have been a longtime AT&T cellular consumer customer), I spoke with both AT&T-USA customer care and the Cingular store (AT&T and Cingular now merged) where the Cingular buyer of my 3650 phone was located, to make sure there would be an easy transition in selling my phone to the young man (his previous Nokia 3650 fell into the water, but his SIM survived okay). At that time, both AT&T and Cingular indicated the phone (an AT&T purchased Nokia 3650- IMEI#: 351102500401335) was unlocked and would be fully compatible with his Cingular SIM. Upon receipt, the phone has its "SIM Card Registration Failed" message (which shows as unlocked), but when he puts his Cingular SIM in it, it locks. Soooo, AT&T and Cingular have now said they were incorrect, apologized, and someone there informally gave us the unlock code of "#pw+249785065737007+1#. We went to verify that this code was okay to try before entering it (as we want to ensure we do not enter wrong code(s) and inadvertently lock the hardware) by going to your website's unlock calculator (entered the IMEI # above, entered as USA-AT&T- 351102500.. type of phone, have NO IDEA (sorry) what "GEN" stands for (tried three choices) to enter, and came up with three sets of about 5-7 unlock codes of which none of them match what the AT&T rep informally gave us. Does anyone know or can someone please help us make sure we have the right code? It is a Nokia 3650, I purchased it through AT&T/USA a year and a half ago (direct), and its IMEI# is: 351102500401335. Appreciate anything, anything anyone can do to help us...the poor fella that bought it from me has been on payphones with me, AT&T and Cingular going on 3 days now with no relief...

I was looking at past threads and that is why I sent the last email. My apologies on the header (if you would please read my message, I was asking to 1) confirm if the code AT&T already provided looked right or not as 2) your sites unlock calculator, when I entered my exact IMEI #, model and provider...I just have "no idea" what the GEN category means to even know what to select there- there was no def. help link to know... none of the three sets of seven codes that came up matched what AT&T had provided. Hope this better explains and that some can 1) confirm sounds right or not the # I already have from AT&T provided and 2) what I should enter in the "GEN" category of the unlock calculator (or what it means), so I can enter and obtain the correct information from it. Thank you.

The GEN used was 32802. It's listed on the calc as "T-Mobile", ok? And the code seems correct!

Let me set something clear: first, you have five attempts to enter a correct code. After that, the phone must be unlocked by cable. Second, entering a wrong code will cause nothing, it will not lock the phone again. The only way to locking the phone again once it is unlocked can be done by flashing a phone with the lock programmed or by the provider. Both ways need special equipment, so don't even matter about that, ok? Once it is unlocked, it is unlocked.

Any other question, just post.

Best regards

the code that he posted was given to him by his provider. It was generated with t-mobile boxkey, that's clear.

Now, why do you recommend those boxserials? as I know, t-mobile boxkey is not blacklisted.
