Hi, a very novice newbie here.

I purchased a Nokia 3360 cell phone about 4-ish years ago from US Cellular in La Crosse, WI. I moved to Minnesota and I no longer live in their coverage area and would like to unlock the phone to use in either the AT&T/T-Mobile/Midwest Wireless coverage region, preferably in a pre-paid plan for my 13 year old son's use. It's a good little phone, and I'd hate to not be able to use it.

I've spent the last couple days reading through the Nfree forums and I see that there is very little regarding the Nokia 3360. Other research leads me to believe that I chose a very difficult phone to try and unlock.

This is what I think I know so far:

It's a TDMA phone. I've read in other areas on this site and others that it's a DCT3 or DCT4 phone, but I'm confused about this. I have firmware version NPW-1NB 4.00.

I called US Cellular today and they told me under no circumstance do they unlock phones themselves. The customer service representative did say it could be "flashed", but no guarantees about what towers I'd be drawing coverage from after I change service providers.

Anyway, the bottom line is this:

Is it possible to unlock this phone myself?
If so, what would it take to do it?

One other thing, I need to get a new charger for the phone, as I lost the other one. As a result, the battery needs to be charged before I can even do anything. I'm working on getting new chargers from Ebay. In addition, if it is possible to unlock this phone, I'm considering getting another for my daughter's emergency use.

Sorry for such a long post. I just hope that I've asked all the right questions, and can get some help. Maybe this will help others in similar circumstances in the future.

Thanks so much!!
