Nokia 5210 Flash Problems!!!

Ok ive got problems with my 5210 again...I have just tried to flash upgrade my fone but the poor quality flash cable connector came out from the back of the fone whilst flashing and yes you have guessed it it wont boot at all :-o
So ive had to order another connector whith a ps2 connector but im not to sure on the connector...Has anyone found a better connector for these type phones? and if so can i ask where :-?
Does anyone have any further ideas on this problem...Hopefully :rolleyes:

Never heard of a DCT3 phone that wasn't able to flash again after disconnecting the cable in the middle of the flashing process

So why not try to repeat the flashing process?

I have a 3310 that was flashed over 700 times and some of them where stopped inbetween and phone still works like a charm :)

Indeed as above try reflashing the phone.
Also use a rubber band to hold the connector to the 5210.

Hi All...Thanks for the replies..Yes a laggy band is a good idea...I just was wondering if anyone had found a better connector as the small one that fits under the battery is a bit Heeth Robinson but i will keep you informed when i get the new connector :roll:

Ok...i have now got the phone to boot but im now getting the dreeded words CONTACT SERVICE!!! on further checking the IMEI Number is now set to Zero's and the Orig IMEI is set to 656565656565656. ive tried EepromTools.exe but getting PHONE NOT CONNECTED?
Can anyone assist from here on please?

Now that you've managed to get new firmware into the flash chip you must restore the eeprom area where the phone stores the IMEI and other important values

But to do that you'll need to use an MBUS cable (not the same for flashing) that connects through the COM port.

Better take some time to read old posts from the forum since that issue has been covered ZILLIONS of times (use the search feature) :-P

Thanks for the reply....yes i am using a flash/mbus kit with the ps2 type connector...so which software should i use to correct the problem?..As at the moment i wont be able to use the unlock un till i have the IMEI sorted

Use nokia tool 1.8 by rolis...or knok..dont forget to clear SP locks and set FAID after U fix the phone..Oh..and something other..flash virgin eeprom than do all these things..

There's no need to flash a virgin eeprom if a program that restores IMEI is used. Nokias firmware have a routine that, when called by the MBUS program ("Repair IMEI"), writes the default values to the eeprom area, leaving the phone with a "virgin eeprom" :lol:

So just use a prog called "DCT3 Repair Partner by neb" (get it from the DCT3 Software section : http://nokiafree.org/forums/t74017/h/s.html) and repair IMEI and then Clear SP locks, apply FAID and make FULL RESET

Ok ive downloaded "DCT3 Repair Partner by neb" and im still not getting anywhere but if i run the "SELF TEST" i get 2 errors MCU EEPROM Interface "FAILED" & EEPROM TUNE Checksum "FAILED" ????

Did u repair IMEI?

Nope the both Knok and DCT3RPv3.5.exe will not let me change/repair the EMEI for some reason

Now flash virgin eeprom and repair Ur IMEI...

Download the FUBU..its with virgin eepron in it...flash to phone...than with nokia tool 1.8 by rolis change IMEI to Ur original on the back cover...than clear SP locks..than software reset than update FAID..than be happy..
