Unlocking 6230 With USB Cable

Hi, Ive got a 6230 on 02 which has been blocked, worked ok then got message sim card registation failed, tryed the unlock codes but pretty sure done it more then 5 times so have got a usb cable but really unsure on what to do now to unlock it, could anyone give me any pointers or software to use please, would really appreciate any help as completley in the dark
