Flash Cable, 3310 Spy Mode!!!! Feedback Asap!

Hi there! I have seen this cable on ebay:

Will it be all i need to flash a 3310 for spy mode?
I have the files, i just need to get the software, i guess somewhere on this site.

Can a couple of people please reply, because i dont want to buy a cable that will not work for not flashing the 3310 to spymode.

Also the spymode flash files, do they work for all nokias? Or just the 3310. Does anyone have any spy mode files that work on other nokias?

THey claim the cable is cable is of Mbus/Fbus type.

Will it work with all software that will flash a 3310, or the software for flashing for spy mode?

this is the wrong cable, you need a flasher cable with a ps2 connector

U need two cables, one for flashing it, and one to authorise the new flashfile after flashing.

Ok, I can understand that these questions are very direct, and perhaps not everyone wants to share information so freely. Thanks for showing me the path, i guess i have to do some digging around.

Its just i am not sure what cables are needed, intitally i thought mbus and fbus (fbus is another word for flash i assumed), and so when i found that sort of cable on ebay i thought it was it.

But then i have been told i need a ps2 flash cable. I have also been told that i need an lpt flash cable (parrellel). So if anyone has any more information let me know. Also if i have a flash cable like a ps2 or parrallel (still not sure which one), I also need an fbus cable - so can i use the mbus/fbus cable as seen on ebay?

LPT: Flasher cable... This is required to flash the firmware to you phone and is available as a single cable or a set with changable HEADS (PS2 connectors)

The changeable heads are for different models ect.

SERIAL: Mbus and or Fbus... This is required to update the phone once you have changed the flash file. This is also available as single cable or a set with changable HEADS (PS2 connectors).

You will need both of the above to change your firmware.

I have been reading this thread with interest :) - It may solve a problem I am having. I have an old 3310 or 3320 (can't remeber) lying around, and I would like to turn it into a spy-phone. Long story...but I have my reasons...I am not a sneaky person honest..But I think an in-law is hassling my gran from money when there is nobody there, but we are afraid to ask :( - What i need to find is the cables and the software to do this...If i have been reading the thread right above - the last post will giove me the cables ....But I wouldnt know where to find the right softare ..I am not stupid, sorry for asking but programming phones sounds like rocket science ..and I have stumbled on this solution by accident. Could someboy point me to

1. the right cables
2. the right software
3. a quick how-to guide

I've bought one spy phone 3310 from ebay and I'm trying to flash another 3310 so it can work as spy phone too!
I've got the cables (the parallel one and the serial one) and I think the right software (I'm using Rolis),but because it's the first time I flash a phone, I don't know the right procedure.
I want to read the firmware of the spyphone and copy it to the other 3310, but I read that I must use the serial cable to "autenticate" (??) or update the firmware in the last one.
Can anyone explain me in detail?

Hi,

I would:

- 1st, make a backup copy of both phones:

Connect the phone to flasher cable.
Open Rolis 4.78, set type in the listbox to 3310.
Press the highlighted green button and then press power On button on the phone, so it will start reading.
After reading it will ask for a filename to store it on hd.
If all went ok, U supposed to get 2 full 2MB backup files now, which will be handy when screwing up later.

- 2nd, read the spyphones data:
Connect Rolis as above, but now we go read just the required mcu&ppm part, not the phones eeprom (identity) data.
So we must press the other, non-highlighted, green button this time and put our adresses manually.
Use addresses 200000 and 3D0000 here for 3310, to get the 1.900.544 bytes file needed.

- 3th, flash the spyflash into Ur own phone:
Plug in the other phone, press the red button to go WRITE some data this time.
Select that spyflash U made earlier and just use the default 200000 as starting address.

After flashing, Ur phone will work, however certain calcs still have it blocked from a network connection and will let Ur phone reboot every 30 seconds.

That's where U need this other cable connected now, the datacable.

- 4th, Authorise:
FAID = Flash Authorisation ID.
With that datacable connected, use the option in kNok to do a "Quick Set Faid" which will drop some recalced values to Ur phone based on Ur new phones datas.

- 4b, Restore factory settings:
Normally this is not required, but especially with switching versions, U can have odd problems due to the mcu and eeprom addresses don't match anymore.

U're done, unplug and restart the phone... ;)

Ps, I don't want angry grandma's out here.

What U do with or to Ur phone is always Ur own responsibility.

So,I could read the firmware of the Nokia 3310, but I have problems reading the firmware of the spyphone!
Rolis gives me this error message:

Preloader initialisation error
Error code: 00 00
Reason:
Cable problems
Delay index too small
Mobile hw malfunction

What could it depend from?
Maybe because it's not the original firmware?
I don't think it depends from the cable.

Yes, if U can read the backup of Ur other 3310, then there is something with that spy file specific.

Can't be Rolis or the cable then, they proved to work.

Only reason I can imagine then is that the version string was changed, and Rolis not recogs it due to that.

Besides Dejan or kNok flasher I can't recall a direct solution from my head without experimenting or searching in the nFree archives.

However, U can also just go playing around making Ur own spy flash file.

Just imagine:

I’m in the process of trying to unlock my 3310 and I have read my way around this site which has been very helpful.
I'm Now ready to buy my cables, as I understand we need to Buy a Data Cable and an Example of this cable is here --> http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/254.htm

After a bit of Digging I Think I’ve found my Cables on good Old EBay
The First One is --> USB Data Cable for Nokia 3310/3330/3315/3410 EP331 (the Obvious Difference between this one and the Example is that this one is USB & not the old Serial) I don’t think it will Matter, But Does it?
The Second Cable Was a lot harder to Find, In Fact I didn’t find one but I did Find This and I Think (Prey) it is going to do the same job --> UFS-3 ORIGINAL TORNADO FLASHER BRAND NEW With 30 Cables.

With Tornado flasher you can flash a lot of phones!

I think flashing programs can work only with parallel (flasher) and serial (data) cable!
